  • LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs for 40% off, Team, Level, Fun Packs Still On Sale

LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs for 40% off, Team, Level, Fun Packs Still On Sale

Remember when I said that Dimensions Starter Packs at 30% off was the best deal you’ll find on those sets? Well, I was wrong. It seems that Toys’R’Us is selling LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs for $59.99 and Amazon has matched their price for all systems except for PS3 for whatever reason. I’m sure that’s just a glitch.

Amazon is also selling all of the other packs at a nice discount. Level Packs are $19.99, a 33% discount off of $29.99 MSRP. Team Packs are also $19.99, reflecting a 20% discount off of $24.99 MSRP. And Fun Packs are $11.88, a 21% discount off of $14.99 MSRP. In all cases, the discounted prices are good for currently released items and does not apply to pre-orders for future releases. You must select Amazon as the seller; if Amazon is not the default seller, you can select it on the right hand side below the purchase box. If they are out of stock, they will honor the discounted price and ship the item when they do get it in stock.

I realize Dimensions being on sale everywhere all the time looks bad. And it could be very well that it is not doing as well as everyone hoped. But I have this theory about that. Right now, the number one toys to life product is Skylanders, with Infinity and amiibo fighting for second and third place, and Dimensions bringing up the rear. I’m not going to consider the abomination that is the Marvel Playmation system. But my point is this. WBIE is purposefully allowing retailers to put the sets on sale in order to get them into homes and increase their marketshare. If they can get into enough homes, they can eventually make the claim that they are the “most played” or “number one TTL game” or have the largest installed user-base. It’s easier to sell a system when you’re the most popular than if you’re trailing behind. I can’t speak for whether or not the game is actually any good. I do know that it plays very much like any other LEGO video game that TTGames puts out and that is more or less a money-making machine. Why fix what ain’t broke? And if you’re a fan of those games, then Dimensions is right up your alley.

  • Amazon Discounts LEGO Dimensions Level Packs by 33%, Fun Packs by 21%

Amazon Discounts LEGO Dimensions Level Packs by 33%, Fun Packs by 21%

All currently released LEGO Dimensions Level Packs which retail for $29.99 are now on sale for just $19.99 reflecting a 33% savings. Portal and Back to the Future are in stock. Doctor Who and The Simpsons are out of stock but you can still nab them at the discounted price. Amazon will ship once it is in stock. Unfortunately, there is no discount for the Midway Retro Gamer or the Ghostbusters since they have not been released yet. Those packs come out on January 19, 2016.

Amazon is also discounting Fun Packs by 21%. Each pack’s price is just $11.88 before any shipping or taxes. The discount applies to all released fun packs; pre-orders for upcoming fun packs are still at regular price.

This sale makes it a lot easier for non-gamers to get some of those minifigs at a reasonable cost.

Amazon Lightning Deal Has Dimensions Starter Pack for $63.99

With a little over five hours left and 20% of the deal already claimed, this lightning deal has LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack for 36% off at just $63.99. This just barely edges out Amazon’s previous best price that was at 30% off.

  • Amazon’s LEGO Dimensions Deal Is The Best Deal – We’ve Checked

Amazon’s LEGO Dimensions Deal Is The Best Deal – We’ve Checked

So we’ve posted this last week and mentioned it again since then, but it bears repeating: you know that coupon code on Amazon? LEGOMOMS? That nets you an additional $15 off the reduced price of $84.99 for a LEGO Dimensions Starter Kit making it just $69.99? That’s the best deal for the starter kit right now and maybe forever. It is essentially 30% off of MSRP of $99.99 and it’s good for the starter kit for all systems. I’ve been monitoring Black Friday deals that are coming up leading up to the big holiday weekend, and this is by far the best deal on the system. Not only is it the best deal, you can knock it off your list and not have to worry about it on Black Friday saving a little bit of your sanity. And really, you can’t put a price on that. I have no idea when the coupon code expires but as of this writing, it still works. You must be a Prime member to take advantage of the coupon code. You can sign up for a free trial if you haven’t already and then cancel before you get charged.

Well what about Level, Team, or Fun packs? Well Target’s Buy 2 Get 1 free video game deal is still going on and expires on December 25th. LEGO Dimensions is included in the offer. If you get three of the same kind of pack, you’ll essentially be netting a savings of 33% off. Wave 2 came out early last week adding the Doctor Who Level Pack along with a new Unikitty Fun Pack.

The price points were one of the main reasons that I held off on diving into Dimensions. Time being the other reason. But with these deals, I couldn’t pass it up. Now I just have to find the time.

  • Amazon Offers LEGO Dimenions Starter Pack for $69.99

Amazon Offers LEGO Dimenions Starter Pack for $69.99

Update: I forgot to mention that this deal is for Prime members only. My apologies for the confusion.

Right now, Amazon is offering the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack for all systems at a discount of $84.99, $15 off of the regular price. But if you apply coupon code “LEGOMOMS”, they’ll knock an additional $15 off the price, bringing it down to just $69.99, a full 30% off of MSRP. If you’ve been holding out on a good price like I have, this would be it. I can’t imagine it getting any cheaper without jumping through some major hoops or possibly having to deal with Black Friday shenanigans.

Also, if you didn’t catch my update this morning on yesterday’s post, Target has sold out on the Advent Calendar, but Amazon restocked it: 75097 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar.

The actress who played the adorkable Annie on Community is the latest actor to appear in one of LEGO Dimensions numerous trailers in the lead up to the game release this weekend. Also, below is a trailer I forgot to post last week that gives you an idea just how much voice talent has gone into this game.

Scooby-Doo Trailer Continues To Build On LEGO Dimensions

  • LEGO Dimensions Wins Best Family Game at Gamescom 2015

LEGO Dimensions Wins Best Family Game at Gamescom 2015

Just a quick note to report that at this past weekend’s Gamescom event in Europe, LEGO Dimensions took home the title for Best Family Game. The other nominees for Best Family Game included Guitar Hero Live, Dragon Quest Heroes, Skylanders SuperChargers, and Super Mario Maker. Had there been an award for Most Cash Cow Potential, it would have won that one too. Those Ghostbusters sets still chap my hide… stupid printed arm….
