  • LEGO Dimensions Half Off At Best Buy

LEGO Dimensions Half Off At Best Buy

So you know LEGO Dimensions is dead? Best Buy is being proactive about getting rid of their stock. They are slashing prices on all LEGO Dimensions in half. So you can get the latest wave of PowerPuff Girls, BeetleJuice, and Teen Titans GO! for just half what they originally cost. If you need to fill up holes in your collection with older packs, this is a good time to do it. Who knows if they’ll hit 99cent stores again, but we can all dream…

Some sets are already sold out, and you can opt for delivery or in store pick up. In store pick up may even yield an additional $1 off per item, making it even cheaper.

Toys’R’Us will also be selling LEGO Dimensions at half off during Black Friday, but who wants to deal with that mess?

  • LEGO Dimensions Officially Cancelled, Internal Memo Says So

LEGO Dimensions Officially Cancelled, Internal Memo Says So

An internal memo at TTGames confirms that LEGO Dimensions is cancelled for good. The memo reads:

“Thanks so much to everyone for making Dimensions possible. As difficult as it has been, it is worth celebrating the incredible achievement it represents in the quality of the game, the amazing blend of IPs and the challenging technical demands it presented. It stands as a real testament to the talent within TT.”

I’m sure there is more to it than that, but that is all I could find on the internet. There is an article over at Eurogamer that digs deep into what could have been and what went wrong with the game. I agree with a lot of the points that the article raises. It’s a bit lengthy but worth reading.

My two cents? Gameplay wasn’t compelling enough; little to no reason to buy all the packs; game couldn’t figure out who it was trying to appeal to; and the price. We tried to get into here and stream it on twitch, but it just wasn’t fun enough.

While I am not exactly crying over its demise despite the image up top, I do hope that no one at TTGames loses their job because of it. Maybe now they can patch the unobtainable gold brick bug in TLNM Video Game. I am looking forward to the clearance sales and with some luck I’ll be visiting 99¢ stores again in the near future. I haven’t picked up the last couple of waves and I definitely want to complete the Teen Titans team.

  • LEGO Dimensions Final Wave Ever Released Today

LEGO Dimensions Final Wave Ever Released Today

Does anyone still play this game anymore? I know we tried streaming it at one point, but let’s be honest, it’s pretty boring. Still, if you’re a completionist, you can now pick up The Powerpuff Girls and Beetlejuice packs today from your favorite retailer. I’d link to Amazon but they seem to have sold out already. Next best bet would be Best Buy.

Today’s release is the final wave for Year 2 content. With nothing announced for the next wave at the recent Gamescom or E3 earlier this year, the future is not looking good. If LEGO Dimensions is taking a break, they need to do or announce something soon to keep whatever momentum they have left going. I get the feeling that interest is dwindling though, and that retailers are not too happy with product sitting on the shelf doing nothing but collecting dust. That being said, if you wait long enough, you’re bound to get today’s releases at 50% or less.

Out of all of the toys to life products out there, I shouldn’t be surprised that Nintendo’s amiibo products are still the best performing. Except for Animal Crossing. Let’s pretend that never happened shall we?

  • [E3] LEGO Dimensions Is Dead, But Enjoy These Pictures of The Upcoming Powerpuff Girls Minifigs

[E3] LEGO Dimensions Is Dead, But Enjoy These Pictures of The Upcoming Powerpuff Girls Minifigs

I tweeted about this yesterday, but I am pretty sure LEGO Dimensions is dead, put out to pasture, retired, discontinued, whatever you want to call it. But there was absolutely no mention of any Year 3 product or plans or anything of the sort. Compared to last year’s E3 where LEGO Dimensions banners peppered the concourse between the West and South halls and the dedicated 20 minute presentation of all the new and upcoming content for Year 2, there was absolutely no presence of LEGO Dimensions anywhere other than the three demo stations in the corner of the WB Games booth that was shared with LEGO Worlds and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. A friendly booth worker wouldn’t comment on its demise other than a cryptic “We are exploring options for 2018”, which, admittedly could mean anything, and still leaves a foot in the door for them to announce some new Fun, Team, Level, or Story pack between now and the next E3. But let’s face facts, E3 is the place to announce your games for the rest of this year and even next year and if the best you can do is say nothing, then that does not bode well. Again, this is purely speculation on my part with no official statement from WB, but you can’t ignore the details, or lack there of in this case

With all that being said, there is one more wave of sets left coming out later this year in September: The Powerpuff Girls Fun and Team Packs, Teen Titans Go! Fun and Team Packs, and a Beetlejuice Fun Pack. I am super bummed that there is no Mojo Jojo Fun Pack to accompany the three girls. The Powerpuff Girls minifigs look fantastic with their oversized heads and mini legs. These are definite must-buys for me.

I tried to make it back to the WB booth today to see if they had a Townsville level playable since they had the Teen Titans Go! level up yesterday, but I couldn’t tear myself away from Nintendo’s booth. Tomorrow is the last day E3, so there’s a small chance I could go back, but I make no promises. Too much good stuff from the big N.

  • [E3] Beetlejuice and Beast Boy In Teen Titans Go! Level

[E3] Beetlejuice and Beast Boy In Teen Titans Go! Level

I shot some more video from the WB booth today, this time a few minutes of the Teen Titans Go! level featuring Beetlejuice and Beast Boy. Beetlejuice’s run animation is hilarious. They didn’t have any of their accompanying vehicles to show during the demo though. They may show Power Puff Girls tomorrow or Thursday. And I failed to get pics of the Teen Titans Go figures, but here’s some shots of Beetlejuice:

    Beetlejuice 2

And in case you are wondering, if you scan in Robin from The LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack and Cyborg from an earlier Fun Pack, they will be rendered as their Teen Titans Go! version.

  • Best Buy Offers Half Price Discounts On Dimensions

Best Buy Offers Half Price Discounts On Dimensions

Best Buy is offering 50% discounts across most of their LEGO Dimensions stock. Starter kits and Team Packs aren’t quite half off but still seeing decent discounts. Fun, Story, and Level Packs are all 50% off . Dimensions may be nearing the end of its life but that doesn’t change the fact that some of the minifigure offerings are pretty tempting to have. Take the Hoff for example, who would have ever thought that you could hold that cheeseburger-loving guy in the palm of your hand? Certainly not me.

Anyways, I’ve only listed the most recent wave of sets below, but it would behoove you to check out the site for their complete selection. Now would be a good time to fill the holes in your collection.

All The LEGO Dimensions Stuff Coming Out Tomorrow And Where To Get Them

Tomorrow is February 10th, the theatrical release date for The LEGO Batman movie. But that’s not all that’s going on that day. Tomorrow is also the day that the newest wave of LEGO Dimensions sets are going on sale. There are a number of timed retailer-exclusives this time around so here’s a quick post on who’s got what:

    • 71264 The LEGO Batman Movie Story Pack – everywhere including Amazon ($28.99)
    • 71344 Excalibur Batman Fun Pack – Target exclusive until March 21st, 2017 ($11.99)
    • 71285 Marceline Fun Pack – everywhere but is on sale for $7.19 at GameStop
    • 71286 Knight Rider Fun Pack = GameStop exclusive until March 21st, 2017 ($7.19)
  • LEGO Dimensions Wave 8 Revealed

    LEGO Dimensions Wave 8 Revealed

WB sent over some images early this morning for the next wave of Dimensions figures. This would be considered Wave 8 if you’re keeping track.

Included in this wave are Sloth in the Goonies Level Pack, Hermione from Harry Potter in a Fun Pack, and Chase McCain from LEGO City in a Fun Pack.

Sloth is the clear winner in this round. He looks, no pun intended, superb. But in the screenshot that shows the Goonies gang, it saddens me that they are most likely going to be like the Wizard of Oz characters and we will never get them as minifigures.

Wave 8 of LEGO Dimensions will be released on May 9th, 2017. Also, in case you missed it, Wave 7.5 consisting of The Hoff in a Knight Rider Fun Pack (a GameStop exclusive until March 21st, 2017), Marceline Adventure Time Fun Pack, are still on sale at GameStop for $7.19 each with free in-store pickup.

Get The Hoff, Marceline For $7.19 Each With In-store Pickup at GameStop

Gamestop is having an early sale on the upcoming LEGO Dimensions Knight Rider Fun Pack. The price is just $7.19, down from $11.99 MSRP for a 40% savings. They also have the former TRU exclusive Adventure Time Marceline Fun Pack available for pre-order with the same discount, just $7.19. You’ll have to opt for in-store pick-up to skip the $5.99 shipping fee to maximize your savings.

As of right now, I couldn’t find an equivalent listing on Amazon for the same two sets so no price matching there. Yet.
