Chinese New Year will soon be upon us and in LEGO’s push to get a piece of that sweet market pie, continues to release Chinese zodiac sets with this year’s entry celebrating the year of the ox, set number 40417 Year of the Ox. It will be free with your LEGO purchase of $85 or more and will be available starting February 1 through February 14, 2021 or while supplies last on LEGO.com or Brand Retail locations.

The Year of the Ox set looks stylistically the same as the previous offerings. Its ears movee, the head swivels, and the tail twists. I’m not a fan of the big grey plate in the front to mimic its nose, not sure why it couldn’t have been brown or tan. But whatever, it’s free.

You know what else is available starting February 1st? This nifty 30411 Chocolate Box and Flower Valentine’s Day-themed set. This one’s free with a LEGO purchase of $40 or more and is also available from February 1 through February 14, 2021. Unlike the 40417 Year of the Ox set, I didn’t get a sample of this one in my box from LEGO. They’re usually pretty good about sending promos, but then again they used to send two copies of the promos too but I guess times are changing.

You know what else is available starting February 1s? 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, that’s what. Priced at $149.99, bagging one of these on day one will automatically net you both the 40417 Year of the Ox and 30411 Chocolate Box and Flower sets.
