  • Back To The Future Set Revealed

LEGO CUUSOO Back To The Future DeLorean

UK-based LEGO fansite Brick Fanatics gives us the first glimpse of the LEGO CUUSOO project, Back to the Future, from a LEGO store newsletter obtained in the store. After achieving the required 10,000 votes on LEGO CUUSOO over 6 months ago, the set is now a reality and according to the image, will be available for purchase starting July 18th. There doesn’t seem to be any minifigs included in the set as none are pictured. There IS a flux capacitor, however the model designers somehow managed to make an already terrible rendition of the DeLorean look even worse. I’ll reserve final judgment until I get my hands on the set but it’s not looking pretty.

The on-sale date happens to coincide with San Diego Comic Con which is happening July 17-21. Coincidence? We shall see.

  • Tumbler Reaches 10,000 Votes On CUUSOO

You know what that means, we could finally have an opportunity to buy an official set with Batman’s latest ride. Assuming you didn’t buy the original, or the one that is currently on shelves now… Brent Waller is the man behind this Tumbler, which is one of many on CUUSOO and his goal was to create what he felt was the most accurate LEGO Tumbler in minifig scale. That’s a tricky mission and in my opinion a true minifigure scale vehicle would be able to accommodate enough figures to have one behind each of it’s dual windows. Would that look too wide? Probably, but if I have to choose an inaccurate vehicle I may as well stick with what’s available already. The biggest this going for this creations chances is the fact that it fits within the size they seem to be going for in this range. However, that may work against it as well because LEGO re-engineers the models to fit with their current building standard and that would most likely land it very close to the pre-existing LEGO versions anyway. This makes it into the June review and I wish him luck in the next stage, my feeling at this point is that he’s really going to need it.

  • Mini Shop Series Achieves Review Stage On CUUSOO

The latest project to achieve its 10,000 supporters over at LEGO CUUSOO is the Mini Shop Series by Pekko. It moves into the June review window and while CUUSOO has said that these sets are meant to be one off releases, I think there is still hope for this one. The LEGO brand store is already represented with the store opening exclusive 3300003 even if it is more of a microscale set. I’d say the real question is whether or not LEGO still has connections with McDonald’s. Mickey D’s has released a few different LEGO toys in their Happy Meals over the years, including one that should be familiar to long-time fans of the site. Could this arrangement still go both ways? We’ll just have to wait and see.

  • LEGO CUUSOO Announces 21103 Back to the Future Time Machine

LEGO CUUSOO Announces 21103 Back to the Future Time Machine

I woke up late today. Anyways, LEGO CUUSOO posted their announcement video about an hour ago and the newest CUUSOO product will be 21103 Back to the Future Time Machine. No on-sale date or other item details have been released. I expect that information to come out sometime in January. The builders behind the project have decided to donate the 1% royalty they would have gained to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. How awesome is that?

My mind is officially blown. And you thought the Minecraft set was hard to get…

  • Minecraft Availability Update From LEGO CUUSOO Blog

Minecraft Availability Update From LEGO CUUSOO Blog

After posting yesterday on the Forbes article regarding the availability of the popular Minecraft set, LEGO released this on their CUUSOO Blog:

Hi LEGO and Minecraft fans! We’ve received word that a limited supply of LEGO® Minecraft Micro World sets will be available online from the LEGO Shop soon, however we can’t guarantee when it will be in stock or for how long the stock will last. The set is proving to be very popular, so we recommend you place your order as soon as you find the set available.

Our online retail partners, including the official Minecraft store at J!NX and Amazon.com are receiving stock as well, so you may also want to check those sources to secure your copy.

Please know that we’re doing everything possible to get this popular set back in stock as soon as we can. For updates, please keep an eye on the LEGO Shop at Home listing for the product.

We’ll try to update when stock becomes available, but I have a feeling this new supply will go quickly.
