Today is May the Fourth, known as the unofficial Star Wars holiday but better described as the official Star Wars merch shopping day. There’s a bunch of sales across a bunch of sites and if you were really looking for something you’d have found it by now. One thing you can’t buy is the thing LEGO is giving away: a sterling silver version of an R2-D2 minifig. The entry period starts today, May 4th, and closes on May 14th. Each entry will cost you 25 VIP points and you can enter 50 times. If my math is correct, that’ll be 1,250 points to maximize your chances. They are giving away 2 out of the 10 ever made. Here are the details:

Enter to win one of two solid sterling silver R2-D2™ LEGO® droid figures. Each is encased in Lucite, numbered and complete with a Certificate of Authenticity. Redeem 50 points per entry, up to 25 entries per member. There are two graded droid figures available, No. 2 and No. 6 of 10. First winner drawn gets No. 2, and the second winner drawn gets No. 6.

Neat. Hopefully, the winner will be more excited about winning than the last guy.

Also, from the sales desk, if you haven’t completely blown your wad on toys and merch, Amazon has the Dagobah diorama set, 75330 Dagobah Jedi Training (affiliate link), on sale for 35% off, from an MSRP of $89.99 down to just $58.49. Right now the page says it’ll ship in 1-2 months but hey, it’s worth the wait to save that kind of dough, amirite?
