LEGO Art Deco Batman Poster
The LEGO Super Heroes Unite! contest may be closed to new entries, but davekaleta is still pounding away at the DC Comics MOC’s. His latest is a fantastic LEGO recreation of this poster and I for one would hang it on my wall in a heartbeat. LEGO as art is a cool concept, but when you throw an extra helping of pop culture into the mix it really takes it to the next level.
Keep them coming folks!

6857 The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape… Where Did That Come From?
Not seen on any lists of the upcoming LEGO Super Heroes DC line up that I’m aware of, forum member
DanoAnonymous Tipster pointed out the abrubt appearence of this set on LEGO Shop@Home. At $40 US for 380 pieces and five oustanding figures I’d much rather pick this set up than the 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City set. The site says it will be available December 15th and I for one see this as the only other must have besides the solitary Sumperman/Wonder Woman set 6862 Superman vs Power Armour Lex.Harley Quinn for the win folks.
edit by onions: who the heck is Sumperman?
edit by buriedbybricks: he’s like Superman, but kryptonite has no affect on him?

Wheels of Justice Polls Now Open
Apologies for the delay, the December bus is running over me, backing up, and then over me again. But, I got the polls up for our Wheels of Justice contest. There are two polls for you to vote in, one for an original Batmobile design, and one for a GreenLanternMobile. To be completely honest, the turnout for this contest was waaaay better than I anticipated. And I am completely blown away by the quality of some of the entries. So much so that we will be having a few more Super Heroes-themed contests in the new year, so stay tuned, True Believers. Until then, head on over to our Contests forum and cast your votes. You only have five days to do it.

Super Heroes Shows Up At TRU
Toys’R’Us lists 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase on their website. It shows out of stock for shipping but is sold in stores so you may be able to get your hands on these sets before Christmas. It’s the only set to show up on their site. Price is $49.99 which may or may not include Toys’R’Us’ holiday price gouge. If you can find it in stores before Sunday, it should qualify for their BOGO 50% off sale. Happy hunting!
Thanks to Jason for writing it in.

Super Heroes Unite! October Winners Announced
The entry period for LEGO’s Super Heroes Unite! Contest may be over, but the excitement continues as the latest round of winners are announced! Coming in first place for October is Dan Glasure with the stop-motion video “It’s Just Your Imagination” and artwork by Stanley Iu, “How to Make LEGO Better.” Congratulations to both who get to take home a lovely (I’m sure, since I haven’t actually seen it) porcelain maquette, not to mention the entire 2012 DC Collection of LEGO Super Heroes sets!
Don’t forget to check out the rest of October’s winners here and stay tuned next month for the exciting conclusion as the final round of winners–including the grand prize winner–are announced.

Batman Returns!
Though recently it feels that as a license, he never really left. If you’re as big a fan of the original 1989 Tim Burton Batman film as I am then you no doubt were surprised that the sequel was as good as it was. Trading in Jack Nicholson’s Joker for the Penguin played by Danny Devito doesn’t sound like a sure thing, but it was and Burton’s mix of gritty noir and campy throwback worked incredibly well. Every bit of that feeling is captured here in this 32 x 32 vignette by LegoManiac, alhtough a passing glance may make it easy to dismiss. The cramped quarters make it difficult to see all the details without taking a closer look, which you can do if you visit the gallery on his blog.

Heroes & Villains Run Rampant @ Eurobricks
Superheroes are all the rage right now and in addition to our Wheels Of Justice Contest Eurobricks is running their first LEGO Batman Contest which highlights vignettes over vehicles in two seperate catagories, 32 x 32 studs and the deceptively more difficult 8 x 8 stud size. The above scene from Si-MOCs depicts one (of many) possible origins for the Joker based on DC’s animated film Batman: Under The Red Hood. It incorporates some great techniques and details without being too busy as many larger vigs tend to do.
In the smaller scale darkblne uses clean lines and smooth surfaces while maintaining enough details to keep it interesting and really capture the character as well as mood of the scene. Check out the other shots to see the background he built outside the window and a cheeky shot of the cat getting the cream.

Last Day to Enter LEGOSuperHeroes.com Contest
Our Wheels of Justice contest has reached the midway point, and today being the 15th marks the last possible day to enter the monthly contest at LEGOSuperHeroes.com to be eligible for December. Dilemmas dilemmas. No reason why you can’t enter both since we lock entries at the stroke of midnight November 30th.
