LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

The Official Announcement for LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has finally arrived and I can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Sounds like the standard LEGO game with a little bit of Batman: Brave and the Bold (the last kid friendly Batman game released) thrown in to freshen it up. The addition of other DC heroes is a great way to add some new play features even if some folks will be disappointed that these supers didn’t get their own game, yet. Read the statement for the full scoop:

Anyone else waiting for the announcement of a LEGO: Lord of the Rings game?

  • “Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?”

    Batwing

Tigmon74 has built a very agressive looking Batwing to start off 2012 and certainly wasted no time utilizing the Batman minifig he got for Christmas. The wing itself is nifty with a great use of the smooth technic panels, but for me the rocky platform and beefed up Batcomputer complete the scene and set the mood perfectly.

  • First Look At LEGO Super Heroes Batman Polybags

    3016030161

After forum member Diaaabo posted pictures of two more Star Wars Polybags, I popped over to check out the new sets Ace posted were available for pre-order and to download some instructions on the S@H site and discovered these two new polys. I have no information on how easy these will be to get or when they will be available, but I have a suspicion that the Batmobile set will be similar to the Hogwart’s Express mini. Could be easier/cheaper to get, but we’ll just have to wait and see at this point. I can’t wait either way and since I have the instructions already, I plan on building a couple of these tomorrow to compliment my son’s new Cars sets. That design is really great!

  • 6860 The Batcave Finally Arrives

The last of the DC Universe Super Heroes debut sets (that we know about anyway) finally arrives at LEGO Shop@Home: 6860 The Batcave. Priced at $69.99, you get Bruce Wayne, Batman, Robin, an excellent Bane, and Poison Ivy. If you order now, you won’t be able to get it by Christmas, but if you’re brave enough to actually go to a mall, a LEGO Brand Retail store may have one. I would call before heading out of course.

Thanks to Guest in the chat room for the heads up.

  • Super Heroes Unite! November Winners Announced

The final winners of LEGO’s Super Heroes Unite! contest have been revealed! And they’re mostly videos, which is a little one-sided if you ask me, especially considering some of the phenomenal entries that weren’t moving pictures. Anyway, big congrats to November’s 1st place winners, Kris Theorin (above) and Paul Hollingsworth (below), who will be getting their hands on the entire DC Universe line-up of LEGO Super Heroes and a maquette. Hit the link to check out all other winners including the grand prize winner, Dan Glasure, who also happened to be one of October’s 1st place winners. I guess that guy’s going to be loaded up on LEGO Super Heroes sets. Also, does anyone think they’ll do another contest for this summer’s Marvel sets?

  • Review: 6864 The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase

6864 The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase 1

This is the second LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes set to be reviewed, and so far the line does not disappoint. Now, if you bought all the previous LEGO Batman sets and think the current DC releases aren’t up to snuff, then you would be right in some ways, but if you look at the sets on their own merits, you might actually enjoy them. I had set my expectations pretty low for this set, mostly turned off by the garish color scheme on Two-Face, his cronies and the truck to be honest, but ended up liking it in the end. The MSRP is $49.99 and for that you get 508 pieces, another set hitting that golden ratio but unfortunately this is where the gravy train stops as the other from the DC Universe sub-theme fare a little worse.
