Two new LEGO Star Wars minifigure clocks showed up on Firebox.com recently: there’s a Boba Fett and Captain Rex, both come complete with rangefinders but sadly no weapons. They are both priced at £26.49; no word yet on a US price or when they’ll show up stateside but we’ll post here as soon as we know.

I was browsing through LEGO Shop@Home’s website when I noticed a few things.
Some keychains are available on the cheap: 98 cents for Kit Fisto, and $2.48 each for Anakin Skywalker and old style Boba Fett. The 98 cent Nute Gunray is sold out. These prices should also be good at every LEGO Brand Retail location. Don’t forget the free shipping offer for all orders over $75; offer ends on the 31st.
Lastly, 8038 Battle of Endor has reached Sold Out status on Shop@Home. Your next best bet is to maybe find it locally at a big box store, or if you don’t want to deal with all the driving around and/or phone calls, you can buy it from third party resellers on Amazon. The best deal as of this writing is $137.35 sold by Cindy’s Favorite Gifts and Fulfilled by Amazon. You can also try Bricklink with its myriad of resellers but the shipping costs may price it above any deal from Amazon.
Every year at Toy Fair, the attendees of the Collector Event each get a goodie bag filled with press releases, a retailer catalog, and, of course, the premium giveaway. For this year’s premium item, the focus is on the Star Wars Miniland area debuting at LEGOLAND CA next month on March 31st. You get this box:
I attended a press event today at LEGOLAND California. It began with the president of LEGOLAND giving an update on the parks attendance, the plans for 2011 for new areas of the park, etc etc. It was all very ho hum until he was interrupted by the lights going out, and the Star Wars theme music blaring out of the speaker system. Finally, I thought, he’s going to announce what I was waiting for the whole morning,
that Hero Factory was getting a new area in the park that Miniland would get a new, permanent Star Wars themed area. Scheduled to open March 31, 2011, LEGOLAND California will be the first theme park to feature a Star Wars theme miniland area, to be followed by LEGOLAND Deutschland and LEGOLAND Billund.
Unfortunately they didn’t have any of the actual models on display, so I snapped some pics of the promotional posters that were on stage during the event that had some of the models pictured:
R2 and Chewie were there:
The press kit has some promo pictures of the model builders building some of the… models… :
Afterwards, I was lucky enough to enter the Model Shop that’s adjacent to Miniland and Gary McIntire showed a few of us a model of miniland Han on Tauntaun and a miniland Boba Fett that Gary designed:
Excited? I frakkin’ am.
You can read the official press release after the jump.
