Walmart.com has updated their pre-order pages for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game. The listings now show Iron Patriot as a pre-order bonus. You must order a console version of the game in order to get the figure so Nintendo DS and 3DS fans are out of luck. Xbox 360 ($49.96), PS3 ($49.96), and Wii U ($49.96) games qualify. Walmart lists the ship date as 12/31/2013, but everywhere else lists 10/31/2013 so I’m unsure when you can actually expect to get your minifig plus video game accessory.

Iron Patriot Pre-Order Bonus at Walmart
Update: Clarified the pre-order terms.
GoNintendo has published an article today outlining the various retailer exclusives for when you pre-order LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. That exclusive we were all expecting GameStop to have? Well it looks like the big blue W has it. Walmart’s pre-order bonus is none other than Iron Patriot. The article states you have to pre-order the console version, so no cheap handheld love for us gamers on the go. There are no details yet on their web page, and they only list the Xbox360 version online, so you may have to head to a b&m store to get your pre-order in.
I have to say, this is a really, really, sh***y way to get Iron Patriot. Look, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes looks like a FANTASTIC game by its own right. There is no reason to restrict a CORE character from the Iron Man 3 movie as a pre-order exclusive. Out of all the characters in the Marvel Universe, THIS is the guy they go with? It sucks to be that kid who goes to see the movie and wants to play with his LEGO Iron Man toys and not have an Iron Patriot to go with it. Nope, sorry, gotta wait til October when the game comes out. There are 42 versions of Iron Man’s armor, why not pick one of those for crying out loud?
Yeah, I’m pissed. Stupid, stupid move.
Thanks go to Chris White for writing it in.

6873 Now Available at LEGO Shop@Home
LEGO Shop@Home finally has 6873 Spider-Man’s Doc Ock Ambush for sale on their site for $29.99. Pretty good for a 295-piece licensed set if you ask me. Walmart’s site still shows out of stock on this set, so if you’re itching to buy and don’t have a physical Walmart or LEGO Brand Retail store near you, now’s your chance. Throw in a Lord of the Rings set and get a free LEGO LOTR poster with your purchase.

Walmart’s Bundle Deals
Walmart.com is currently offering some bundle deals that are worth mentioning. All include their exclusive and excellent 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder and one of the following:
- 7957 Sith Nightspeeder regular bundle price: $49.94; special price: $39.97
- 7931 Jedi T-6 Shuttle regular bundle price: $84.85; special price: $64.00
- 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack and 9488 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droid Battle Packs regular bundle price: $50.91; special price: $39.97
The net discount is about 20%. The worst deal is probably the Jedi T-6 Shuttle offer. They can’t discount that set deep enough to make it worth while.
Shipping is free to a store or 97 cents to your house.

[US] Summer Clearance Reports
Word on the street is that the new Lord of the Rings and Monster Fighters sets are hitting shelves. Stores need to make room, so be sure to keep an eye out for clearance sales for older inventory. So far we’ve heard about Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean hitting 30-50% off at Walmarts, along with K-Mart clearance including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Cars 2, and more.
As always with big chain retailers, your mileage may vary. But these super savings are always worth stopping in for a peek. Be sure to check the forums to see what people are finding.

Walmart Blu-ray and DVD Deals
Let it be known that I prefer referring sales to Amazon if the price for a particular item is the same as another retailer since they offer both free shipping to your home and no charges for sales tax to most states. But Walmart’s affiliate program gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse, so I figure I’d make a post to try and push some sales. So, if you live in a state that doesn’t charge sales tax or you don’t mind paying it to support the state you live in, and you don’t mind supporting Walmart, and you want to support FBTB, and you don’t mind picking up your order with free site-to-store shipping, then maybe there’s a deal or two here for you.
If you haven’t picked up Star Wars on Blu-ray yet, Walmart is offering the complete saga for $79.99. They also have the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy both for $39.99. And lastly, LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace is a Walmart exclusive and can still be had for a measly $13 dollars. If you have little ones that are into LEGO Star Wars, a small investment will provide hours of entertainment.
In Cars 2 news, there is a Walmart-exclusive Blu-ray/DVD combo pack that also comes with a diecast car of Finn McMissile. No details yet if this version of the British spy is any different than the one that’s clogging up the pegs everywhere you go, but if it is we’ll let you know. The combo pack + car will run you $29.96. If you care more about 3D Blu-ray than a collectible, the 3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray/DVD combo pack might suit you better at $31.96. And if you don’t care about either and just want the movie, there’s a deal for that too for $24.96. All of the Cars 2 preorders will ship free to your home on the day it’s released on November 1, 2011.
For all you Pirates of the Caribbean fans, there’s a Walmart-exclusive release of the Blu-ray/DVD for On Stranger Tides that includes a Pirate Tin Bank. The tin bank set will set you back $24.96. This item will ship free to your home on October 18, 2011.
And finally, for you comic book movie fans, there’s Thor on Blu-ray/DVD for $22.96 plus a 3D version for $7 dollars more ($29.96), both with free Site-to-Store shipping. I think it’s funny that Green Lantern on Blu-ray/DVD costs more ($24.96) than Thor considering how terrible Green Lantern was. There’s a 3D version as well for $29.96. Green Lantern stinks up the DVD aisles on October 14, 2011.
