I’m not sure if this is an homage or an upgrade. Building a copy of someone else’s MOC is not uncommon, but why put the time and effort into re-doing a SHIP of such massive proportions as the one Eric Varszegi’s built? Well, this Venator is 100% LEGO. No glue, no metal support system and an increase of almost 10,000 parts to help strenghten it.
Sylvain BALLIVET (iomedes) laments that at 43,000 pieces and almost 3 meters in length he found it difficult take cool pictures of such a massive model, but includes a video link that thankfully shows the detail put into this recreation. Impressive, most impressive.
Update: As evident by the picture above, iomedes has had help in sprucing up his existing shots.
