Well, well, well, all three themes are batting a thousand so far. The new tally:
- City: 2/0
- Harry Potter: 2/0
- Star Wars: 2/0
But it’s only Day 2 and there’s plenty of time for things to go downhill. Do I sound cynical? I might sound a bit cynical there. Well, let’s see what Day 3 has in store for us.
City (Nick)
A Police Station to bring on day three, and the first real “meh” of the calendar. It’s fine, I guess, but it’s just boring. It wasn’t really clear how this fit with the rest of the build, but if you glance inside the box, the interior is a small playmat with roads, a dock (for our Day 1 boat), and a train track. Not a fan of the little buildings, but the tile is pretty nice.
Harry Potter (Eric)
God, this ship is cool. Yesterday’s castle was a little basic, but the Durmstrang Ship scaled down to miniature, while still managing to pack in a lot of detail, is an absolute treat. Plus, I’m a sucker for a brown color scheme.
Star Wars (Ace)
Mos Eisley building? Obi-Wan’s Hut? No matter what it is, it captures that desert-building/mudhut aesthetic pretty nicely. The moisture vaporator is a great touch and attaching it through the hole in the rounded 1×2 plate is pretty genius. Despite the ambiguity, I can dig it.
