My commute to work is hell. It’s about 1-1.5 hours one-way, sometimes longer if there’s a fender bender on the side of the road and people are rubbernecking. So anything to take the edge off of the long drive and help keep me awake is welcome. I used to be a Google Maps user but my friend turned me onto Waze. Waze makes the drive a bit more fun and interesting. All of the data (accidents, police sightings, closures, etc) is crowd-sourced and you can earn points by sharing your data during your commute. What makes me want to post about it now though is that they added C-3PO as a voice! So you can have the protocol droid be your navigator during your commute.

Waze is a free download from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or visit Waze.com. Once you have the app, go to Menu > Settings > Sound (iPhone) or General (Android) > Voice Language (iPhone) or Language (Android) and select “English US Star Wars”. That C-3PO man. First thing he said to me was something like “It seems no one requires my services. So I shall assist you.” Gee thanks, Goldenrod, for going out of your way and doing me a huge favor. Seems the time between Episode VI and VII made him a bit sassy. The next few weeks should be fun.
