Yesterday, LEGO revealed their newest product designed to suck the money right out of your wallet: 71411 The Mighty Bowser. You’ll be poorer just be looking at the pictures!
Just look at it! It’s awesome! He looks HUGE too! With the display stand, The Mighty Bowser measures 12.5″ high, 16″ wide, and 11″ deep. The large size allows for an incredible amount of detail like the quadruple convex pyramid elements used for the tips of his claws.
The shell is probably my favorite part of the statue. The geometry of the angled shell segments and how they all fit together and curve in a dome shape looks amazing and I’m super curious to see how it’s done. Also, the white edge of the shell following the shape and curve is just as amazing.
Bowser isn’t just a pretty statue. There are some built-in buttons to move his head side to side. There’s another button to open his mouth. Push the button all the way and his mouth opens and launches a fireball from his mouth.
LEGO included some interactivity with the digital Mario figure. Scan the block and you can bounce him around Mario dealing blows to Bowser. Mario will react with sound effects and facial expressions.
