Comic Con Logo

Once again we compile all of the LEGO related events happening at Comic Con. In addition to whatever LEGO has going on in their booth, and there will be a lot, there are a few additional items of interest to catch. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an LEGO Star Wars-themed panels this year. And with that, on to the list.

Portfolio Review
LEGO Systems, Inc. art directors Rob Johnson, Joe Dinunzio and Andy Munoz will be reviewing portfolios of illustrators, storyboard, comics and 3D artists as well as copywriters to discover experienced and innovative freelance talent who wish to work on various forms of communication for internal and licensed product lines. This year the primary focus will be on finding freelance illustrators to work on illustrated content for LEGO Friends projects, comic illustrators (ink and color samples, sequentials, and cover art) and 3D artists proficient in MAYA and VRay. Please bring examples of your strongest and most recent work as well as any LEGO-themed/inspired content you have created to show us how you would handle working with the LEGO brand. Lastly, please have a business card with your website/online portfolio and contact information.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Preview Their Upcoming Lineups
Warner Bros. Pictures: The LEGO Movie — From directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller of 21 Jump Street comes the first ever full-length theatrical LEGO adventure, The LEGO Movie, about a perfectly average LEGO minifigure named Emmet who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. The original 3D computer animated story stars Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie, with Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman. Warner Bros. Pictures: Edge of Tomorrow – Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ epic sci-fi thriller Edge of Tomorrow, from director Doug Liman. In a near future, an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault. Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission and killed within minutes, but is inexplicably thrown into a time loop, forced to fight and die again and again. But with each battle, his skills increase, and he and Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt) get one step closer to defeating the enemy.
