FBTB MOC Madness 2011 Building Tournament Announcement

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get your bricks ready because it’s time for for the second annual FBTB MOC Madness Building Tournament! Last year we kicked off a big contest with a simple task and it was such a success that we’ve decided to revive it this year with a few minor changes. The challenge remains the same: Build a new original bounty hunter and a ship for them to pilot. But this time we’re opening up the restrictions a bit, and we have some great prizes lined up so check out the forum post for the full details! 

Please read this entire post before asking any questions. Your bounty hunter can now optionally be brick built rather than strictly minifig style (making it easier for aliens and droids to get in on the action). They can now have a sidekick/copilot if you want too. Also, we’re ditching the size restriction on the ship, just keep it minifig scaled folks. It must have a prisoner hold to qualify again, but beyond that, blow our minds. You have two months to build so take your time and really show us what you can do!

How To Enter:
Simply post three photos as follows in a reply to this thread before November 1st:

1. A close up of your bounty hunter.
2. A presentation shot of your bounty hunter’s ship.
3. A demonstration shot of the prisoner compartment. Prisoner optional.

Also, provide the name of your bounty hunter and ship or they will be listed as unknown. A backstory is not required. Optional: include a link to a gallery or MOC Showcase post with more images.

Standard Contest Restrictions:

• No more than one entry per person.
• No modified parts or cut stickers.
• No unofficial elements.
• No pre-existing or virtual models.
• No changes allowed after the deadline.

You must have a forum account to enter. Entries by proxy will be not be allowed.
Do not post non-entry photos to the contest thread.

You must use Flickr to host your entry pictures because we rely on the built in image resizing feature. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for free, or ask someone to upload it for you.
Once uploaded you will need to embed the photo in the forum. To do so:

1. go to the flickr photo page for your image
2. click the little down arrow above your photo to the right of the icons
3. click “Grab the HTML/BBCode” from that drop down menu
4. check the bubble next to “BBCode” (HTML will not work)
5. copy the code from the box above and paste that into a reply here
6. do not add any more code tags
7. click Preview to verify that it worked, then Submit.
   If it didn’t work, PM me.

Photography note: be sure to submit the best pictures possible. Color and contrast correction is recommended if necessary. The only other image enhancement allowed is replacing the background with either a solid color or simple gradient. Your photos cannot be altered in any other way. For example; no composite views, special effects, text, graphics, or scenery will be permitted. Remember, the contest is about the models – not your image manipulation prowess.

Voting will be in Tournament Format:

• Tournament sign-ups (i.e. submitting your entry) are open until 11:59pm on Monday October 31, 2011 Pacific Standard Time.
• All entries received will be placed in the group pool round. Voting by the community will occur for one week. The top 32 advance to the next round.
• After the group pool round, the top 32 will be paired off into brackets and go head to head. Winners of each bracket will advance to the next round. Bracket play will continue until 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are determined. Voting for each round of brackets will be open for 3 days.
• A special forum will be created for users to vote for each round. Up to date tournament standings and bracket pairings will be viewable at any time via an image linked to in this post.
• Final Four round: winners will advance to the finals to battle for 1st and 2nd place; losers will compete for 3rd and 4th place.
• Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Just like the Olympics, there is no prize for 4th.

• Whichever ship the 2nd place winner didn’t choose
• FBTB T-Shirt
• White Boba Fett Minifig
