If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, then you may be anxiously awaiting the third installment in the Iron Man franchise due to be released next year. The rumours surounding sets based on the film being circulated seem to be pretty well accepted as fact even though we have no official word on the subject from LEGO themselves. If we do get a series of Iron Man tie in sets similar to this years Avengers release, then each new picture and leaked bit of info could translate into LEGO form. Speculative Spoilers Ahead, Read At Your Own Risk.

10 Foot LEGO Lord Vampyre Is Raised In New Orleans
You’re in The Big Easy for the weekend. You’re caffinated, want to stay up all night and have some fun, so what are you gonna do? Build a 10 foot tall LEGO Lord Vampyre of course, what else could you do?. As Ace posted before the event this past weekend, this massive Monster Fighters themed statue was assembled by Master Model Builder Erik Varszegi with the help of the events attendees.
The 150,000 piece model will be dismantled and shipped to LEGOLAND California for their Halloween activities, which I’m sure will delight the children there and after that he’ll no doubt disappear back into the night. Anyone else wish LEGO had made those new bat arms in the black and red printing?

Proof That Tony Stark Has A Heart…
…And it’s made of LEGO.
Don’t you just hate it when you’ve got an uncompleted build sitting on the shelf and someone comes along and finishes it before you can? No, me either and quite frankly I enjoy seeing other people arrive at the finish line with a similar yet different conclusion. Mr.Attacki built this snazzy Arc Reactor and even lighted the thing for effect with great results. I’ll probably still finish my version when the depths of winter drive me into hibernation and I’ve little to keep me sane in the endless darkness beyond those colourful little distractions. Now someone needs to build a wearable version.

The Hobbit Game Now Available
The title says it all and you can grab the newest addition to the LEGO games collection at Amazon, or take advantage of the Shop@Home double VIP point deal. I know some folks view this as a missed opportunity for an adventure game, but that was pretty well taken care of with the Heroica line. I guess they could do a game where you climb a mountain, run from monsters and search for treasure… kinda like Ramses Pyramid. Oh, you could have one with dragon on the mounta… nevermind.
Glorified matching game it is, easier to turn in into a drinking game anyway. The dwarves would approve.

LEGO Lord Of The Rings Developer Diary
Here’s a behind the scenes video that gives another glimpse at the anticipated LEGO Lord of the Rings video game. The developers from TT games talk about some of the interesting gameplay and I have to say the individual character inventory sounds promising, but what I’m really looking forward to now is tossing the dwarf.
If you’re like me and still haven’t pre-order the game yet, Gamestop still has the Elrond figure available. I need to get on that.

[CAN] TRU Brictober Deals – Week 1
I should have posted this on Friday, but better late than never. With just two months or so left to shop for the holidays, Bricktober touches down at TRU Canada with some “giveaways” that’ll cost you a pretty penny. As Ace reported earlier, each week you’ll be able to get one of the Vintage Minifigure Collections seen below when you spend $75 on LEGO. Making that relatively easy they’ve discounted both the 10215 Obi-wan’s Jedi Starfighter and the exclusive 7848 Toys ‘R’ Us Truck by 50%. Spend $35 and you can get a free 30152 Mining Quad polybag. I’m not sure if these offers stack, so I’ll go check it out in the name of “research”.
Add 25% off all LEGO board games and a free Creationary booster pack with any LBG purchase and the month is off to a pretty good start.
Update: The offers do stack, so if you’re into the vintage look or mining, giggity.
