I had wondered how LEGO might react to purposefully driving the donation count up... I guess at a minimum they would give away polybags. Guess each one maybe costs $0.25 to manufacture. That's still a donation of $250,000. That only goes up if they were giving away actual sets.
Obviously they set the 1M limit and knew what their liability was. So I would hope they aren't trying to welsh on that promise thinking that they set a limit that would sound impressive but never be achieved.
I would guess it's that they don't want the site overrun with bot traffic preventing real people from enjoying and submitting to it. But we've made good progress in total numbers over the past few days. Tolerate it a few days more and the bots will go away.
