9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor - 1

Courtesy of German toy website SpielwarenHegmann.de, we now have pictures of some of the 2012 assortment of LEGO Star Wars, Cars, Super Heroes Ultrabuild figures, and Spongebob Squarepants. Keep in mind these are just a few pictures of the 2012 assortment. There are more headed our way but that weren't uploaded by the site. We've seen some of the Star Wars sets, but now we get some nice clear pictures. The Cars and Spongebob sets, to my understanding, have never been seen before. Hit the jump for the complete thumbnail gallery.

Well dang... I'm tempted.

On further inspection, I'm rreeaaallllllyyyyyy tempted. Anakin doesn't look CloneWarsy, the two small OT sets look awesome, especially for some of the figures. In fact, I gotta say, the only SW set I find unappealing (though am still tempted because of the figures) is the X-wing.

i'm 99% certain that the interceptor is a non-clone wars set, meaning the minifigs are normal and not freaky. this is completely based on how anakin and obi-wan are stylized

Gotta say, the new wave of SW sets looks better and better the more we find out about 'em. I, too, am on the fence about the X-wing, but the figures are enticing and the engines do look fairly different. . . if it's really an upgrade in accuracy, I'll go for it. Also, I just realized that the desert stormies have sand printed on their armor, sweet!

Not a huge follower of the Cars line, but it's very cool that they're releasing a whole wave of little cars. It seemed like the obvious way to go, and those little cars are great fun. I really liked the little Lightening McQueen and Mater sets, so I'm looking forward to more. The Spongebob sets look like great parts packs. . .

I bought four of the original X-wing sets. I still have them in sealed boxes. I haven't bought more, but if the price is right I might change them out to the new ones and have some fun with my son putting together a squadron.

I can tell by the R2 style that the interceptor is a movie set, not Clone Wars. Really loving the dirty sand troopers.

That droid escape looks awesome. i'll get one of those for sure.

Why do we need ANOTHER pineapple under the sea!?

Another x-wing is "meh" in my opinion. I think a lot of people are waiting on the next UCS X-Wing.

Good stuff, for sure - even the CW sets. They did a nice job with those commando droids.

The TIE is the crown jewel without contest if you ask me. Great-looking updated OT ship complete with four great figs - what's not to like?

An interesting thought. Although 7191 was ground-breaking in its time, I would love to see TLG re-visit this set. It's been over a decade, and I personally don't like the look of it. Parted that one out years ago.

I have to agree, after a gulf of a couple of waves where I didn't care for most of the SW sets, this is a return to form. I still have to pick up the Podracers from the current wave, though. I agree that the TIE Fighter looks great. I don't know if I need the X-Wing or not, but I'm in for the BPs and possibly the Droid Escape, too.

Still not interested in these SW sets at all. Oh well, at least Batman is coming. And that Darth Vader is mean and ugly looking...awesome.

I'm liking this set, however, wouldn't the set be better had "Anakin" be named Darth Vader instead. After all, at this point he was already named.

Can’t tell you how happy I am that everyone here knows about the green Eta-2 in Revenge of the Sith. On Eurobricks it’s as if people haven’t even watched the movies. "Armor just below the cockpit?”

I originally didn't know about it untill someone pointed it out to me. :x

I'm really perplexed as to why Anakin has such weird dark circles around his eyes. I can understand making the 'evil side' of his head all creepy, but the normal side almost doesn't look right.

@Walter Boy- His head is double-sided? I can only find pictures of the one side- as included above. Do you have links to the other side? Please?

Oh, scrap that, I wasn't looking properly; I assumed the two thumbnails were the same. My bad.

The bags-under-the-eyes mode Anakin looks evil enough, but the yellow-eyed Anakin looks kinda strange. But variety is good and it beats clone war style figs. I bet It'll be pricey though, I remember the days of 7256; a starfighter and a vulture droid. But those days are long gone...

Agreed. They should focus on making an actually decent version of Squidward's house instead. Or something else that actually has reference to the source material...

Walter Boy wrote:Got really excited when I saw 'Flying Dutchman.' Then I saw the picture.

Agreed... though I'm guessing you were hoping for a PotC one while I was hoping for a decent SB set. This doesn't look terrible though, I just think they could have done away with the little island scene and done the ship a little more justice.

The Star Wars stuff looks fantastic though.
