The figs other than the last, are not amazing, although several of them aren't bad as duplicates. However, the minis are fun. Typically Lego Advent calendars are never that amazing. Realistically, there is only so much fun a kid can have with a few bricks. However, kids love the expectation and surprise of what they are going to get. That's what makes them fun. I think the mini spaceships have a lot more play potential than many things we've gotten in past calendars. I'm going to encourage my boys to build duplicates of a few of them from their own bricks to make mini fleets.
I would urge anyone interested in this set to sweep it up quick when it hits the shelves in October. Lego Advent calendars have sold out fast in recent years. I predict this one will be hard to find after Halloween.
