Info (including pricing) is available on Eurobricks. No US info yet, not sure if we're going to get this right off the bat (despite it being a US train design). I'd port all that info over but my internets at work are being stupid so I can't yet.

Doesn't appear to be quiet as expensive as I initially thought. Judging by the euro pricing, @ 120, I'm going to figure the US pricing to be right around 130.

I am excited about this set and pleasantly surprised at the $119.99 price for the US, I thought for sure it would be upwards of $149.99. I will be picking up at least two of these at this price.

There are a ton of fantastic features in this set to drool over, so my question's gonna look pretty stupid...on the minifigs, are the dark blue torsos plain, or is there some print under those vests? I'm a monochrome minifig nut, and it would be nice to replace my Brasso'ed dark blue torso with a legitimate one...

WOW...yep, it's wowing me. Holy guacamole this is gonna be an expensive year.

Best looking locomotive to date, IMHO. Don't get me wrong, Emerald, Santa Fe and BNSF are wonderful sets, but this raises the bar. The designer(s) have certainly done their homework here, and moreover, this locomotive looks to be a nod to the über-talented AFOL train builders...this is a supertrain for the rest of us.


...or it's just a colossal April Fool's prank.

This video shows printed torsos are printed (at the 2:06 mark). And no 1x1 blue cheese.

Does anyone know how easy it is to mod one of these newer trains for use with 9volt trains? Can you simply attach a 9v motor to the bottom, or are they built completely different?

Hi again FBTB, I haven't been on here for probably close to a year.

I can't say with 100% certainty that a 9v motor will work, as I haven't tried it myself. That said, if you look at the .pdf instructions for 10219 (the 2nd booklet) they do include steps to incorporate the newer PF train motor (88002) which seems roughly to be the same dimensions as the 9v motor. I think using a 9v power-plant for the Maersk loco should be pretty easy to accomplish.

According to Pierre Normandin, the LEGO designer who designed that set, the set is completely adaptable to either a PF motor, a RC motor or a 9V motor.

At least, that's what he told us at the latest QuéLUG meeting where he made a special presentation of this set... and another one to come!
