Wrong Post count?

When I go into User control panel theres a button that says view your posts and it gives you a number next to it. However when you click it it gives a different number. Not a major complaint but why does it give you a wrong number.

Certain forum sections don't count posts you've made in there towards your post count as far as I know.

Post counts are stupid and irrelevant, so the system has been disabled. But it wasn't disabled from the start, so it's kind of wonky. Previously asked and answered here.
