30110 Trolley, Series 5 Found at Toys’R’Us

LEGO Harry Potter 30110 Trolley

I found the above at Toys’R’Us tonight for a retail price of $4.99. Not sure if that includes the infamous TRU markup or not. There aren’t any special elements and Harry’s nothing to write home about either, but it IS LEGO Harry Potter and if you’re a fan of the series, it should be pretty easy to pick one up. There is my complete review for 30110. Enjoy.

They also had Series 5 Collectible Minifigures at $2.99 for sale as well. Yes. $2.99. Stock up while you can at MSRP before they add 50 cents or a dollar to the price tag. And since TRU is able to sell LEGO earlier than any other retailer including Shop@Home, it’ll be awhile before anyone else starts selling the figs, so if you can hold out a bit, you can garner some VIP points and still pay MSRP.

Review: 4738 Hagrid’s Hut

4738-1

Hagrid’s Hut has now received the LEGO treatment 3 times, along with Hogwarts Express (3) and Hogwarts Castle (4+).  And why not?  They each appeared in several – if not all – of the Harry Potter films.  Hagrid’s pad played host to at least a few important events in the films, most notably in “Prisoner of Azkaban,” and as such is at least justified in more than one treatment (if not worthy). Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movie Posters LEGO-fied

Lego Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Update: Forum member TooMuchDew sent over a bunch of links to the PDF files for all 8 of the LEGO Harry Potter movie posters:

Links to PDF Posters for Movies 1-6 are here:
http://harrypotter.lego.com/en-us/downloads/default.aspx

I did some a Google advanced search within the domain:
http://cache.lego.com/upload/contentTemplating/HarryPotterDownloads/otherfiles/

actual search:
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=site:http://cache.lego.com/upload/contentTemplating/HarryPotterDownloads/otherfiles/&hl=en&lr=&biw=1280&bih=909&prmd=ivns

and found the PDF files for all 8 movie posters (7.1 and 7.2 are bottom 2 links in search)

LEGO Harry Potter 7 – ‘Deathly Hallows Part 1′ movie poster:
http://cache.lego.com/upload/contentTemplating/HarryPotterDownloads/otherfiles/downloadB04DD0CF847688B1EE40B3BBEE7A9852.pdf

and LEGO Harry Potter 7 – ‘Deathly Hallows Part 2′ movie poster
http://cache.lego.com/upload/contentTemplating/HarryPotterDownloads/otherfiles/download021C3582C181546DB64C70424167DA50.pdf

There may have been some legitimate way of arriving at the posters as a reward for playing an online Harry Potter LEGO game but I didn’t bother checking.
Enjoy!

flickr-user Okay Yaramanoglu (okayaraman) uploaded some Harry Potter movie posters stylized with LEGO minifigures in place of the actors. He CLAIMS to have gotten them from the LEGO website, but I couldn’t find them on there, so he may just be lying.

Or I fail at the internet.

Deathly Hallows Part I movie poster above, Part II below. Pro is not enabled for his account; hopefully, he can comment on the forum thread and link to the original size.

Thanks, Okay!

Free MINI Hogwarts Express with Diagon Alley Purchase

Free MINI Hogwarts Express with Purchase of Diagon Alley

Update: Got the following from my rep:

“Free item will not appear in your cart or during checkout. It will be on your order confirmation email and in your order”

So I get this emal from my Shop@Home affiliate rep, saying that right now, from August 1st through September 30, 2011, if you purchase 10217 Diagon Alley, you’ll get a free MINI Hogwarts Express set, pictured above. There’s no coupon code to activate the free MINI set, and it’s not automagically added to the cart, unlike the Alien Conquest Jetpack set. I sent an email back but no word yet on how to get the freebie. Not sure if the MINI set and VIP points is worth tacking on tax and shipping to the cost of the set when ordering from Shop@Home, when Amazon has the same set for the same price with no tax to most states and free shipping, but people have done crazier things for exclusives.

Anyways, once I get word back on how to obtain MINI Hogwarts Express, I’ll update this post.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 Pre-order Bonus for Canuckians

Flickr user Brandon (LegoBrandon) posted an image he took at his local Toys’R’Us store somewhere in the wilds of Canada. If you put down a $5 deposit, you’ll get a special LEGO Harry Potter Lab set. You can start placing preorders this Friday June 17, or so the sign says, but given that he was able to take the picture, I’d guess you can mosey on in and plunk down your money for it now.

No word yet if the U.S. will get a similar pre-order bonus. The game is scheduled for release on November 1, 2011 for all major platforms.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 Slated For The Holidays

As a follow up to the successful LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, Joystiq is reporting that Years 5-7 will be released in time for the holidays later this year. The game follows Harry and his mates through the final years at Hogwarts. It is slated to be released for all major consoles and handhelds, including Sony’s upcoming, badly-named NGP.

Thanks to ccjwprongs for the tip.
