Amazon Discounts LEGO Archicture Sets

Amazon has discounted several LEGO Architecture sets ranging from 20-34% off. They’re all on sale actually but some of them aren’t worth losing sleep over. Like that 21008 Burj Khalifa set. I don’t think they can discount that thing deep enough. I’ve linked the notable sets below.

Please note that the prices listed below are reflective of Amazon’s list price and the discount amount may not be as great as perceived.

New Architecture Set: 21018 United Nations Headquarters

LEGO 2013 Architecture 21018 United Nations Headquarters

The LEGO Architecture theme keeps going strong with the latest addition to their lineup: 21018 United Nations Headquarters. As Tohst likes to point out, this set sees the black levers or control sticks in white. No word on pricing or availability yet.

Thanks to Tohst for the heads up.

Retiring Soon List Updated To Include Sungnyemun

21016 Sungnyemun

When I posted the announcement about the Sungnyemun back in may, I did not expect it to be on the retiring list so soon. This set just became available on June 1st last year which seems like a really short shelf life to me, but the nice thing about the new “retiring soon” page on Shop@Home is we’ll get a better idea on the life of some sets. If Sungnyemun was on your list of sets to get and you haven’t yet, I wouldn’t wait too long.

LEGO Wins at Toy Industry Awards

Toy Award Winners

Tonight was the industry awards show for the American International Toy Fair where they give out awards for Toy of the Year in various categories as well as induct any new inductees into the Toy Hall of Fame, and The LEGO Group walked away with three out of the twelve categories. It should be noted that no other manufacturer won more than one award. Top Honors for Toy of the Year went to LEGO Friends for which I’m very happy about. LEGO also won Activity Toy of the Year with LEGO Friends, Girl Toy of the Year with LEGO Friends, and Specialty Toy of the Year with LEGO Architecture. And that my friends is how this post is relevant.

LEGO Architecture Leaning Tower Of Pisa

Everyone’s been waiting for new LEGO set pictures this week and here it is! The latest Architecture set to slip out before official announcement takes us on a trip to Italy. Looks pretty good to me. Not as nice as some and certainly better than others. Not sure if this picture was taken at one of the international Toy Fairs, but I’m sure information will be along shortly. One way or another.

21009 Farnsworth House Down 42%

Architecture fans take notice: Amazon has discounted 21009 Farnsworth House by a whopping 42%, now $34.99 down from $49.99. But hey, $35 bucks is still a chunk of change. Worried about upsetting your significant other? Add a 4203 Excavator Transport to your order for your kids as a decoy. It’s marked at $29.97, 50% off of MSRP. Yeah, not a mistake, it’s half off.

Amazon Discounts 21010 Robie House, 21009 Farnsworth House by 40%

Amazon has discounted the impressive 21010 Robie House by 40%. You can pick up the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural standard for $119.93, down from $199.99 MSRP. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on this set and will probably be the lowest ever. Free shipping and no tax to most states makes it an even sweeter deal. Better act fast before Amazon realizes that Walmart sold out and they no longer need to price match.

But wait, there’s more! Amazon has also discounted 21009 Farnsworth House in a similar fashion. That set is discounted 39%, $36.42 down from $59.99 MSRP.

Other LEGO Architecture sets are seeing modest discounts as well.

LEGO Shop@Home September Promotions, New Products

Monster Fighters GWP

September sees a host of new products and offers from LEGO Shop@Home. Let me break it down for you:

Free Shipping: Spend $75 or more and receive free standard shipping until September 21st.

Free Zombie Car: Spend $75 or more and receive the above pictured Monster Fighters set. Offer good until September 30 or while supplies last.

10228 Haunted House now available: The cost is $179.99 but you’ll get free shipping and the free Zombie car set. It’s like killing three birds with one stone.

New Architecture set – 21014 Villa Savoye: You know, the last few Architecture sets have really been not sucky, you know? Not sucky as in not as bad as the first few sets. There really seems to have been a turn in the quality right around 21010 Robie House or even 21009 Farnsworth House before it. The latest entry celebrates Villa Savoye, located outside of Paris, France. Villa Savoye was built in 1931 by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret and serves as a classic example of the modern movement in architectural design. You can pick yours up today for $69.99 and get 660 pieces delivered to your door.

10212 Imperial Shuttle returns to Shop@Home: This may be your last chance to pick up the UCS Shuttle for retail. It disappeared from Shop@Home for a while but has come back. Otherwise, it’s pretty much gone from the supply chain though Target seems to still have some for sale. But unlike Target, you’ll get VIP points and the free Monster Fighters set.
