Just a quick heads up to all you procrastinating builders: you now have less than five hours remaining to submit your models. Anything submitted after 8PM Pacific Time tonight will be too late and you will forfeit your position in the tournament bracket. So far forty five out of the sixty four have posted. If any of the remaining nineteen miss the deadline their opponent will automatically advance to the next round while the polls will determine the rest. As far as the polls themselves, they will take a little bit of time to set up but I should have them ready within a few hours after the deadline at most. Stay tuned!

The sixty four entry limit flew by Thursday afternoon and we’re on schedule to kick off the next phase. The bracket above (click for full res version) shows all of the competing pilots, each paired off with their first challenger and the letters they’ll be using for their starfighters. If you registered before the deadline and your pilot is shown above you can start building right away. The deadline for this round is next Sunday at 8pm Pacific time and you can find dedicated threads for each match up right here in the contest forum (you may need to check the second page, there are 32 threads in this opening round). The polls will go up shortly after that deadline and run for only two days before the next round starts.
The deadline for sign ups is Saturday and we have a total of fifty four contestants so far. That means if you want in you still have a chance, but you’re running out of time. All you have to do to participate in our biggest contest yet is build yourself a minifig pilot and submit it to this thread. That earns you a slot on the bracket and a chance to fight your way through the ranks of fellow builders in the coming weeks. Ace has his doubts that we’ll hit the limit of sixty four by this weekend, but I think the odds are pretty good. I’m looking forward to seeing the final ten so we can get this rolling!
It’s time to launch our final contest of the year. We’ve had this one in the works for some time now: a new twist on our annual Moc Madness Tournament that will really put you builders to the test. The theme itself is a classic for Star Wars fans and a perfect way to try out the new format. Please see the full rules for the latest crazy scheme and sign up in the forum if you want to participate. (more…)
Congratulations to each of you! Expect a PM later this week to get those prizes on their way. And to everyone who built and voted, thanks again. These contests would be nothing without everyone joining in.
It’s that time folks, we’re coming up on the last stretch in our latest contest. The deadline is midnight Monday so you still the weekend plus one more day to get those models finished and submitted. Full rules available here and don’t forget that all entries need to be posted to the the contest thread before it closes.
Two weeks in and two weeks to go, plenty of time for you to join in on our latest contest! The challenge is simple: start with the mini Volkswagen Camper Van and put a Star Wars twist on. Anything from the movies or Clone Wars cartoon is fair game and there are loads of directions to take this. You can read the full rules here for all the specifics. And be sure to stop by the contest thread and check out the entries so far, we’ve gotten loads of great submissions already and I’m looking forward to more.
If you haven’t ordered from Shop@Home to get yourself a Mini Camper Van set, or the regular Camper Van set, or don’t have enough money to do either, then now is your chance to win one! LEGO Shop@Home is sponsoring this contest offering prizes of 5 copies of 40079 Mini Volkswagen T1 Camper Van and 1 grand prize of 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van! All you have to do is Star Warsify the Mini Camper Van.
The poll ended last night and pleased to bring you the winning entries. In first place by a wide margin is agrahmann’s fantastic arcade console:
In second place, with it’s clever color usage for that old school look, MrAnderson’s Attack of the Shredder:
And tied for third, mryoder’s Sewer Patrol and corneliusmurdock’s Ordering a Pizza:
We decided to forgo the a tie breaker poll and instead will award them both a prize, so to our four winners: congratulations! Ace will get in touch with you this week for shipping details. And to everyone who participated by building and voting: thanks again.
