Even though quite a lot of these sets have only just come out, Very.co.uk, are already having a sale on all Lego. There’s some 20% knocked off all sets and 50% knocked off the price of Series 9 minifigures! Stocks may be rather limited of the latter. CLICK HERE TO SEE ALL THE SETS THEY STOCK.

In what I can only imagine as an effort to deflate the aftermarket prices, LEGO has once again restocked 21102 LEGO Minecraft. It’s not only the fact that it’s restocked, but the purchase limit has been raised from 1 per household to 5 per household, enough for everyone in the family plus the dog. Price is $34.99. The set has 480 pieces and comes with two micromob characters: Player and Creeper.
I’m a few days late posting this, but earlier this week GameInformer posted a new video in their expose of TT Games upcoming release LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.
Watch the video below to learn how the character designs have evolved since Lego Star Wars, the process of adapting Marvel characters, and what it is like to work within the of Lego Company’s guidelines.
Since they don’t allow sharing of video content and I’m too lazy to look up the embed code, you’ll have click through to read the article.
Walmart is currently selling their Star Wars exclusive set, 9525 Pre Vizsla’s Mandalorian Fighter, for 20% off of MSRP of $49.99 with free sitetostore pickup. It is now $39.97 hitting that much sought after golden ratio. This is the first time I’ve heard of this set seeing a significant discount. The set comes 403 pieces and minifigs of Pre Vizsla, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and a Mandalorian.
They are also selling 8092 Luke’s Landspeeder. This is a GREAT original trilogy set featuring five classic minifigs: Luke, Obi-Wan, C-3PO, R2-D2, and a Sandtrooper, six minifigs if you count the sentry droid. This is newsworthy because this set is also a Walmart exclusive and is sold out at LEGO Shop@Home.

USA Today has dropped exclusive pics of the first set from Zach Snyder’s Man Of Steel which hits theaters June 14th. Just two figs in 76002 Superman’s Metropolis Showdown the smallest set, which will retail for $12.99US. Reports are these two appear in almost every set, so I’m hoping for variants. Expect pics of the entire line from our Toy Fair NY coverage next weekend.
Here’s a snippet from a press release made today:
In anticipation of Man of Steel, global master toy licensee Mattel unveils its wide ranging toy line including action figures, vehicles, playsets and collectible figures, highlighted by the fan-favorite and much-anticipated Movie Masters™ line, which captures the superior accuracy and details of the film’s characters. Mattel will also introduce Man of Steel QuickShots™, a new way to play with Superman with elements of flight and strength incorporated into the toy. Also supporting Man of Steel are global licensees such as LEGO, with exciting construction sets inspired by memorable scenes from the film; and Rubie’s Costume Co. with a new line of Man of Steel-inspired costumes and accessories for both kid and adult fans.
I’m glad they kept the new hair piece, even though he’s captain slick in the new movie.
I get the honour of doing the first of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set reviews because I’m not only the sites biggest fan of the comics, but I’m also an expert on the cartoons, movies, toys…. I kid, I kid.
Actually, I’m first because Ace is busier and this is a small, easy set. I really am a big fan of the comics, original cartoon and first movie though and I have to admit that the new Nickelodeon series is now on that list as well. The storyline is quite good for a generational reboot and there are far more moments that throwback to the original comics then most of what has come in between. One of the stand out bits for me are the brief traditionally animated shots and the moments when the turtles eyes go stark white in acknowledgement of their comic book roots. Keen.
However, it could be the finest crafted cartoon of all time and it wouldn’t mean the LEGO sets based on it would be worth my time or money. Luckily, at least with this set, I think they could be.
Just a quick reminder – you only have a few days left to finish up those microfig scale ships for our current contest. The deadline is midnight (Pacific time) on Thursday night and the poll will be ready on Friday. You can read the full rules and view the current entries in this thread.
Architecture fans take notice: Amazon has discounted 21009 Farnsworth House by a whopping 42%, now $34.99 down from $49.99. But hey, $35 bucks is still a chunk of change. Worried about upsetting your significant other? Add a 4203 Excavator Transport to your order for your kids as a decoy. It’s marked at $29.97, 50% off of MSRP. Yeah, not a mistake, it’s half off.
Steve Poulsen built this massive version of the fortress at Helm’s Deep for ULUG’s presentation at the Great Basin Train Club when they decided to add some LotR scenes to their layout. He says it took him around 100 hours and lists not only building stats, but future upgrades he plans to make because he’s not satisfied yet. I don’t even care if the rockwall make it more of a Helm’s Shallow because it looks impressive and the desire to frame it off from the surrounding displays not only makes sense, but makes for better pictures.
Remember back in October when the news broke of a LEGO Batman movie based on the video game DC Super Heroes Unite? Well we’ve finally heard news on it’s release and that comes with the not too shocking reveal of an exclusive minifig packaged with the movie. I find it more curious that after the Empire Strikes Out was announced the other day to be released in what appears to be DVD only format, here we are again with the DVD/BluRay combo pack. The pack comes with a Clark Kent/Superman figure I know many, including myself, have been hoping to see. It’s available for pre-order on Amazon with a release date of May 21st.
