Steve Poulsen built this massive version of the fortress at Helm’s Deep for ULUG’s presentation at the Great Basin Train Club when they decided to add some LotR scenes to their layout. He says it took him around 100 hours and lists not only building stats, but future upgrades he plans to make because he’s not satisfied yet. I don’t even care if the rockwall make it more of a Helm’s Shallow because it looks impressive and the desire to frame it off from the surrounding displays not only makes sense, but makes for better pictures.
