Theme Chooser

Those of you who may fondly remember our April Fool’s prank in which we changed the theme of the site to be a Power Miners fansite may appreciate this. Over to the right => you may notice a small announcement telling you what theme you’re using. By clicking on the switch button, you’ll be able to select a theme for the site. I need another day and possibly the weekend to bring this functionality to the forums but it will be integrated. We have plans on adding more themes to the line up so check back often.

And for those who remember our April Fool’s joke with bitterness and anger: you probably won’t care, but hopefully we’ll be able to deliver a theme you’ll like.

One caveat: you need to have a javascript enabled for this to work. Some adblock software may prevent this from working.

What do you think? Love it or hate it, let me know.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Now Available For PC

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for PC

Yesterday marked the day that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga was made available for PC. Finally. After about 2 years of the game being available on all the other major platforms. Features include:

  • The LEGO Star Wars premiere of online two-player co-op lets families play together from anywhere in the world for the first time.
  • New high-resolution LEGO models and characters, along with new environment graphics and special effects, create visuals unparalleled by any other LEGO galaxy far, far away.
  • Families can commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars by playing through the events of all six Star Wars movies in one videogame for the first time ever.
  • Solve puzzles that encourage creative thinking through the use of teamwork and unique building situations only possible in a LEGO galaxy far, far away.
  • Adds new levels, new characters and new features to the fun, creativity and tongue-in-cheek humor that made LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy such huge hits.
  • New levels, such as Episode II’s never-before-played high-speed pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell, further complete the entire Star Wars story.
  • New playable characters like Watto, Zam Wessell, Boss Nass and more bring the total count to over 160.
  • The upgraded Character Customizer includes all Prequel Trilogy characters for the first time, while also expanding its customization options well beyond those in LEGO Star Wars II, for millions more possibilities. Create cross-Trilogy mash-up characters like Han Windu and Lando Amidala.
  • New game features include enhanced Force powers, new power-ups, and a new Challenge Mode.
  • Levels from the original LEGO Star Wars are revamped to meet the gameplay evolutions of LEGO Star Wars II.
  • For the first time, every Prequel Trilogy character — even those without the Force — can build, as well as jump into and out of the vehicles they create.
  • Redesigned “Mos Espa Podrace” and “Gunship Cavalry” levels now encourage the open vehicle gameplay of LEGO Star Wars II.
  • New bonus levels and 10 additional Bounty Hunter Missions offer new challenges in the Prequel Trilogy.

Not exactly sure what’s new and what’s old that’s being hyped as new for PC. But in any case, I know there are a few of you that have been waiting for this. You can order your copy from Amazon.com today!

Greg’s Comics Are Back!

Well, sort of. While I try and devise an evil scheme to convince Greg to do some more comics for us, you may now browse an archive of all the comics he’s done for FBTB. It’s listed in the features page, but if you’re lazy and want save a click, you can access Greg’s Comics right here and also by hitting the image below:

LSW:TVD Release Party Pics

I attended the release party at the Glendale, CA LEGO Store. It was good to see a crowd of kids and adults alike, the line even extended outside the store. The store was offering a free poster with a purchase of the book. There were giveaways and trivia contests and I think one of the prizes was a special 10.10.09 t-shirt which I wasn’t able to get a pic of. Darth Vader was on hand along with a Stormtrooper and a Tusken Raider for photo opportunities. Some kids even had them autograph their copies of the book which I found extremely puzzling. All in all, I think everyone had a good time.

Reviews Index Alive Again

Just a quick note, after some jury rigging, the reviews page is back up. And the little box on the side of the wordpress pages that shows the forum’s recent topics is also functioning again.

Twittering Is Back

The FBTB Twitter simulcast is now back. If anyone who’s following got a series of tweets from me all saying the same thing, I apologize for the spam. I tried installing the latest version of twitter tools but it wasn’t sending the link back to the original post so I had to revert to an earlier version of the plugin.

We now return you to regularly scheduled programming.

LEGO Ben 10 Found On Amazon.com

I almost don’t want to report this, but apparently Amazon.com wants to be the leader in leaked LEGO set information as you can see most if not all of the new LEGO Ben 10 line:

One can’t help but draw comparisons to the failed Galidor line when viewing these. Though Humongousaur might warrant a purchase for the name alone.
