Some TFA MOCs To Whet Your Appetite

Less than a day! TFA will be in theaters in LESS THAN A DAY!!! I’m excited so I thought I’d share a couple of pics that popped up in our flickr feed featuring MOCs based The Force Awakens.

Pete Corp’s T-70 X-wing, above, is stunning. It’s built for a microfig and while it can’t actually fit a microfig inside, he does have a few shots with one to show scale. Check out his photo stream for more pictures.

Next we have a brick-built Kylo Ren by Kevin Ryhal. He captures Kylo’s imposing presence perfectly. My favorite part has got to be the tiled plates for the lower half of his robe.

And finally we have a trio of droids from Daneil Stoeffler: C-3PO with his now-signature red arm, BB-8, and R2-D2. The BB-8 is particularly nice since it is a modified Lowell sphere utilizing more round plates and tiles than just regular plates.

All good stuff and I for one can’t wait to see more Episode VII MOCs to come in the few days/weeks/months/years!

LEGO Built Life-Size Rey, BB-8 & Kylo Ren Statues For The Force Awakens Premiere

Of course they did, why wouldn’t they?

Weighing in at 192 pounds and standing 70 inches tall, the Kylo Ren model is made from 28,826 bricks and took over 260 hours to create. With luck, there will be some good pictures taken of the actors at the premiere this coming Monday with their brick doppelgängers. Can you believe it’s only a week away? My suggestion is that you get whatever Force Awakens toys you think you may want now, because as of next weekend… it’s Thunderdome.

    The Force Awakens Names Revealed

Entertainment Weekly posted yesterday a reveal of the names of the characters shown in the official trailer. Director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm head honcho Kathleen Kennedy decided to reveal the names in style creating the graphics based on the old Topps trading cards. The only impression I came away with was that the names do not sound stupid. Except for BB-8. Basketball? Ball bearing? Bowling Ball? That one may be too on the nose.

And I guess this is considered news now? Names? At least they tried to make the reveal interesting and putting them on trading cards instead of releasing a spreadsheet. What’s next? Breaking news that special effects were created by machines called “computers”? And that lightsabers aren’t real?
