I’ll admit, this one has flown under the sensors a bit for me since it was first announced. I really liked Rebels, and enjoyed the Clone Wars, so I have a lot of faith that Dave Filoni is going to give us an enjoyable cartoon. The setting, just before The Force Awakens, is also where a whole bunch of questions are for the Star Wars story. While the comics have given us some of that, the audience is a lot smaller in comics than on even a mildly successful TV show (and that doesn’t describe anything Disney, really).
Episode 1 will air on the Disney Channel at 10 PM EST, episode 2 a week later, and after that, the rest of the series will be on Disney XD, the more “mature” Disney Network. Rebels had a very similar pattern, so I expect that the first two episodes are more of a feature length that gets packed together and shown later. Also… Disney… 10 PM? It’s a kid’s show and bedtime is still a thing…
