According to The Brothers Brick, Patrick Boivin was commissioned to remake the Cars 2 trailer in LEGO. You’ll see some animated facial expressions because how else was he supposed to do that which don’t detract at all from the silky smooth stop motion animation.

- Several thousand LEGO bricks were used to create the trailer
- 3 months of animation
- Was recorded 24 frames/second like the movie; it’s not common to directing stop-motion at 24 frames/second
24 frames per second is astounding and makes the 3 month development time seem a little short.
