  • “Behold The Argonath”

    Anarion

The Anárion half of the Pillars of the Kings at least. I’d love to see Glory_Forever compliment this with the addition of Isildur, but I will be content with the scene as is. I’ve always been inspired by the description of these gates and the many different artistic interpretations seen over the years and this is one is no different.

  • Super Hero Stop Motion Cinema Contest Poll is Open!

    Super Heroes Movie Maker App

The time has come to screen the entries and pick your favorite, so head on over to the polling thread where you can watch them all and cast your vote. Winners will be announced in one week.

  • Amazon Discounts 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep

Amazon.com has discounted 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep by 25%! MSRP is $129.99, but you’ll pay only $97.14 with no tax to most states and free shipping! Unfortunately, 9471 Urak-Hai Army is still full price at $29.99, so expanding your wall is still a costly endeavor.

    Update: Price has expired.

  • Elrond Minifigure To Come With LEGO LotR Special Edition

    Elrond

Will over at Lord of the Bricks discovered this on Amazon.de. No word on if other outlets will have exclusives as well, but if this figure is only available through Amazon then it will be next to impossible to sweet talk someone into giving/selling you one. We’ll update when or if this offer will be available elsewhere.

  • [UK] 20% off at Toys R Us this weekend

Starting today and lasting until Sunday, Toys R Us in the UK has a 20% off deal for many brands, including Lego.  You can use it online (with the code TOPBRANDS20) or if you want to get the discount instore, you’ll need to print off this voucher and present it with your purchase.

They don’t appear to have the new Star Wars sets yet on their website, but they do have the Lord Of The Rings sets, if you’re into that.  Not sure about local store set availability though as I’ve not been to a store in a while.

    Happy Discount Hunting!

  • Email Issues Fixed

A few days ago, our hosting company changed their policy on how outgoing emails from the server are handled, which resulted in me scrambling to debug the issue and implement a fix. For those of you not receiving the activation emails to complete registration, please use the contact us form and let us know and we will resend the activations. Or if you’ve tried to send us an email through said contact us page and you don’t think it went through, please try again.

  • Ferrari Promo Sets To Be Available From Shell

Huw over at Brickset got a tip about some new promotional sets from Shell and Ferrari. He did all the virtual leg work and has put all the details up for anyone interested, so I’d suggest you check it out. The basic breakdown is these six vehicles will be available at Hong Kong Shell stations for a couple of bucks ($20 HKD) when you buy $50 in gas ($400 HKD) and they should be available worldwide at some time. There’s even a seventh set that should be available once the first six have been obtained. I’d expect a similar deal to get them when they are available and I suspect these will be popular with many collectors and tiny turbo fans. We’ll keep an eye on this and try to keep you updated as these become available in other regions.

  • The Dark (K)night Returns… Again

    Warning:
This trailer, like the comic, is graphic and may not be suitable for younger Bat-fans.

This time in animated form and it looks great. Frank Miller’s dystopian vision of an aging and retired Batman is required reading for Bat-fans and if you haven’t already then you should right the situation sooner rather than later. The three issue story spawned a sequel years later which I never felt lived up to the original, but was still a fun way to revisit Miller’s previously established world. Part 1 will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download on September 25 and I’ll update as soon as it’s available on Amazon.
