[USA] TRU Bogo 50% Off – Today only!

Toys R Us is offering a Buy One Get One 50% Off for today only, Nov 5th. This might be a great opportunity to pick up that big set you’ve been holding off on for (dare I say it?) Christmas. Right now they have the 7965 Falcon listed at $129.99 so a second would be $64.99, that’s $97.49 each! Don’t need two falcons? We’ll the 7964 Republic Frigate is on for $109.99, or breeze through and find a deal that suits you. Any big ticket items will earn you free shipping at $75. The deal is no good on Ninjago, PotC and Mindstorms, but you’re here for the Star Wars anyway so no biggie ;)

Thanks to forum member JamesBenjamin for the heads up!

Toys’R'Us Has Some Ho Hum Doorbuster Deals

You know Toys’R'Us stores are ramping up for the holidays when they start having door buster deals every week. The following deals start today at 3pm and end Saturday 1pm. They list 4195 Queen Anne’s Revenge on sale for $109.99, which is $10 bucks less than regular MSRP (TRU regular price appears to be $139.99). 7498 Police Station is $82.49 compared to MSRP of $99.99. The best deal I think is from Ninjago, 2505 Garmadon’s Dark Fortress is down to $52.49 down from REGULAR MSRP of $69.99. Deals are good both online and in store.

City 2012 Shows Up At TRU.com

Toys’R'Us online has some of the new City 2012 sets on sale already. I think this is the earliest account of the January assortment showing up at a retailer. As is customary when mentioning news about TRU, be aware of any potential additional mark up especially the closer we get to Christmas.

Last Week of Bricktober Deals

LEGO

This is the last week of Bricktober and while the Buy-2-Get-1-Free sale never materialized, Toys’R'Us is offering dollar discounts: spend $50 or more on LEGO construction sets or games and receive a $10 discount or spend $100 or more and receive a $25 discount. The catch is that it does not apply to LEGO Star Wars sets, but Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter are fair game. If you need a small LEGO set to tip the bill over the threshold, the stores are awash with Collecitble Minifigures Series 5 right now. Beware of any potential TRU mark up that may affect your potential savings. This offer is good both online and in-store. They offer free shipping on orders $75 or more, so it might save you a car trip to order online. And finally, you also get a free “Astronaut” magnet with a purchase of $20 or more.

Update: I’ve been told that in order to get the dollar discount to work online, you have to delete the free promotional items in your cart since the online system won’t allow promotions to stack. You didn’t want a glued minifig magnet anyway.

Update: That 30055 Vulture Droid set we reported on earlier? While they were physically at Toys’R'Us retail stores for a few weeks now, they were unavailable for purchase until now. You can buy them individually for $4.99 or if you spend $30 or more on a LEGO construction or game set, you can get it for free.

Also, there’s a 25% off Cyber Week promotion going on at the website. It says “up to 25%” on LEGO. The selection isn’t very big, but 7965 Millennium Falcon is priced at $112.49, down from TRU price of $149.99, regular MSRP is $139.99. The funny thing is, despite the discount saying that LEGO Star Wars is excluded, if you remove all the promotional items, the $25 dollar discount applies automatically, for a net price of $87.49 and you still score free shipping. That’s about a 40% savings off of MSRP. There are a few other sets on sale as well such as 7962 Anakin’s and Sebulba’s Podracers for $71.24, 7964 Republic Frigate for $97.49. For the Republic Frigate, you can add 1 Collectible Minifigures Series 5 to bring your total up past $100 to trigger the $25 dollar discount. Again, this particular deal is only available online and ONLY for today, Sunday October 23rd.

Review: Rod “Torque” Redline

Rod "Torque" Redline Event Kit

You won’t find Rod “Torque” Redline in any official LEGO Cars set. Rod “Torque” Redline is an homage to the muscle cars out of Detroit, right down to the Michigan license plate. As a LEGO set, he was a promotional item from a Toys’R'Us LEGO Building Event held on Saturday October 15, 2011. By some of the things I’ve heard and read, I should consider myself extremely lucky that my daughter and I were able to walk away with a set for each of us.

[USA] TRU Bricktober Week 3 Brings Free Battlepacks

The Toys R Us Bricktober event rolls onward with the Retro Knight Minifigure Magnet available with any $20 LEGO purchase and they’ve discounted a few choice sets with at least two worth checking out:

Free glued magnet, a couple of discounted sets and free shipping on orders over $75 not enough for you? My, how jaded you’ve become. How about a free Star Wars Battle pack when you spend a scant $40? So drop your cash and take your pick. Selection may vary in store.

Thanks to ufjason for the heads up!

Toys’R'Us News

LEGO Cars 2 Toys'R'Us Building Event

I have two items of news regarding Toys’R'Us.

First up, if you haven’t heard by now, TRU is celebrating Bricktober all month long featuring a different deal every week. In addition to the current offerings of a free Rob N. Hood minifigure magnet with a LEGO construction purchase of $20 or more and the free Ninjago Battle Arena with a LEGO construction purchase of $50 or more, Toys’R'Us brick and mortar stores will be celebrating LEGO Cars 2 by hosting a building event this Saturday October 15 from 2pm to 4pm where kids “can build and decorate their own version of Rod ‘Torque’ Redline.” I’m not entirely sure what building and decorating their own version exactly means. Is it an official promo set? Do they just mash bricks together from a basic assortment of parts? Eh who knows. I’ll be there with daughter in tow to see exactly what the deal is.

LEGO

Secondly, in a stroke of the unexpected, TRU’s affiliate program extended an offer for FBTB to become an affiliate again, and we’ve accepted. So, we’ve added the button back to the left sidebar and, as usual, will still be reporting sales and deals like before. Thank you, TRU!
