Another TRU BOGO 50% Sale

Toys’R’Us is once again offering a BOGO 50% sale ahead of Black Friday. If you’re hoping to get some big ticket items, sadly a lot if not all of them are showing as out of stock. Some of the regular sized sets are still available though. If you’re hankering for something new, all but the largest set in the new Dino theme are in stock, as well as all of the new 2012 City and Ninjago lines so you should be able to find something to put under the tree. Sale goes on today through tomorrow.

Black Friday LEGO Deals 2011

Update 11/21: Fred Meyer and Walgreens have been added.

Here’s our annual report on Black Friday ads mentioning LEGO. The deals are pretty lackluster compared to previous years no doubt due to LEGO’s rising popularity. Still, if you’re out and about and manage to find yourself at any of the retailers below, you might be able to score something. Some deals are good only for a few hours, some all day or all weekend. I’ve made a note of wh I’ve also listed the store hours where available. Most of the deals are for in store only. Cyber Monday should bring a few more deals around. We’ll be updating this post as more info trickles in. All information should be solidifed by Wednesday night so check back often. If you have sales news to share, hit us up through our contact page.

Free Shipping Offers From LEGO Shop@Home, Toys’R’Us

Receive FREE Shipping on any order of $99 or more. Valid thru 12.13.11

LEGO Shop@Home has a free shipping offer going on until 11:59pm EST 12th December 2011. The catch is that you have spend $99 or more to qualify. The good news is that if you decide to take part in the online VIP member sale this Saturday and spend enough, your shipping is covered. Buying Star Wars sets? Don’t forget that you can use code FBTB (FBT1 if you’re in Canada) to score yourself a free Shadow ARF Trooper. They also have that free holiday set too. And MINI Hogwarts Express if you’re looking to get Diagon Alley. Lots of freebies…

The free shipping with no minimum purchase offer from Toys’R’Us expired yesterday, but their new offer is free shipping with a minimum order of $49. Their 25% off sale is still in effect until this Saturday. If your LEGO purchase hits $60 or more you’ll get the half-sized minifigure display case as a freebie.

Toys’R’Us 25% off LEGO Sale, 50% off Two Sets

Toys’R’Us is having a special deal this week from 11/13 through 11/19. Certain sets are 25% off, those that are pictured above. PLUS, get a free minifigure display case, a $14.99 value, with any LEGO purchase $60 or more. PLUS, get free shipping with no minimum purchase until 11/17. We reviewed the minifigure display cases, so getting the half-sized one for free isn’t too shabby of a deal.

There are two items of note that you can get 50% off on. The LEGO City 7848 Toys’R’Us Truck is 50% off, ringing up at $24.99. Ninjago 2519 Skeleton Bowling, a Toys’R’Us exclusive, is also advertised at 50% off. Here’s where it gets tricky: currently, the TRU price is $34.99, it’s on sale currently for $29.99 (MSRP), and the advertised 50% price is $19.99. I don’t know what kind of math they’re using, but hopefully someone finds the deal worth it to argue for a true 50% off price. Even with TRU’s markup, $17.99 seems like a pretty good price for the set.

Final note: even though the ad is live as I write this, the prices shown on their website do not accurately reflect 25% off. I could be reporting this deal prematurely and the discounts won’t trigger until the stroke of midnight, but we’ll keep you updated as much as possible.

Update: The sale prices are now in effect. The bad news is that TRU raised their price on 2519 Skeleton Bowling, so that the 50% price is $19.99. Let the crazy TRU Markup Season begin!

TRU 8 Hour BOGO Sale Ends Soon

As I write this there is only 1 hour 20 minutes left to take advantage of this offer, but maybe someone can take advantage.

Toys’R’Us is having a special 8 hour BOGO sale on select LEGO sets. LEGO Toy Story 7599 Garbage Truck Getaway is a TRU exclusive and is priced at $42.98 and is eligible for the BOGO. The best deal, however, is my personal favorite set from the Atlantis theme, 8075 Neptune Carrier, is priced at $44.98, already discounted down from MSRP of $59.99. Buying two copies of that will set you back $67.47. Tax and shipping applies if applicable, but you’ll get free shipping once your cart total reaches $75 or more. Sale ends 7pm EST.

Thanks to kojitator for the heads up.

[USA] TRU Bogo 50% Off – Today only!

Toys R Us is offering a Buy One Get One 50% Off for today only, Nov 5th. This might be a great opportunity to pick up that big set you’ve been holding off on for (dare I say it?) Christmas. Right now they have the 7965 Falcon listed at $129.99 so a second would be $64.99, that’s $97.49 each! Don’t need two falcons? We’ll the 7964 Republic Frigate is on for $109.99, or breeze through and find a deal that suits you. Any big ticket items will earn you free shipping at $75. The deal is no good on Ninjago, PotC and Mindstorms, but you’re here for the Star Wars anyway so no biggie ;)

Thanks to forum member JamesBenjamin for the heads up!

Toys’R’Us Has Some Ho Hum Doorbuster Deals

You know Toys’R’Us stores are ramping up for the holidays when they start having door buster deals every week. The following deals start today at 3pm and end Saturday 1pm. They list 4195 Queen Anne’s Revenge on sale for $109.99, which is $10 bucks less than regular MSRP (TRU regular price appears to be $139.99). 7498 Police Station is $82.49 compared to MSRP of $99.99. The best deal I think is from Ninjago, 2505 Garmadon’s Dark Fortress is down to $52.49 down from REGULAR MSRP of $69.99. Deals are good both online and in store.

City 2012 Shows Up At

Toys’R’Us online has some of the new City 2012 sets on sale already. I think this is the earliest account of the January assortment showing up at a retailer. As is customary when mentioning news about TRU, be aware of any potential additional mark up especially the closer we get to Christmas.

Last Week of Bricktober Deals

This is the last week of Bricktober and while the Buy-2-Get-1-Free sale never materialized, Toys’R’Us is offering dollar discounts: spend $50 or more on LEGO construction sets or games and receive a $10 discount or spend $100 or more and receive a $25 discount. The catch is that it does not apply to LEGO Star Wars sets, but Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter are fair game. If you need a small LEGO set to tip the bill over the threshold, the stores are awash with Collecitble Minifigures Series 5 right now. Beware of any potential TRU mark up that may affect your potential savings. This offer is good both online and in-store. They offer free shipping on orders $75 or more, so it might save you a car trip to order online. And finally, you also get a free “Astronaut” magnet with a purchase of $20 or more.

Update: I’ve been told that in order to get the dollar discount to work online, you have to delete the free promotional items in your cart since the online system won’t allow promotions to stack. You didn’t want a glued minifig magnet anyway.

Update: That 30055 Vulture Droid set we reported on earlier? While they were physically at Toys’R’Us retail stores for a few weeks now, they were unavailable for purchase until now. You can buy them individually for $4.99 or if you spend $30 or more on a LEGO construction or game set, you can get it for free.

Also, there’s a 25% off Cyber Week promotion going on at the website. It says “up to 25%” on LEGO. The selection isn’t very big, but 7965 Millennium Falcon is priced at $112.49, down from TRU price of $149.99, regular MSRP is $139.99. The funny thing is, despite the discount saying that LEGO Star Wars is excluded, if you remove all the promotional items, the $25 dollar discount applies automatically, for a net price of $87.49 and you still score free shipping. That’s about a 40% savings off of MSRP. There are a few other sets on sale as well such as 7962 Anakin’s and Sebulba’s Podracers for $71.24, 7964 Republic Frigate for $97.49. For the Republic Frigate, you can add 1 Collectible Minifigures Series 5 to bring your total up past $100 to trigger the $25 dollar discount. Again, this particular deal is only available online and ONLY for today, Sunday October 23rd.

Review: Rod “Torque” Redline

Rod "Torque" Redline Event Kit

You won’t find Rod “Torque” Redline in any official LEGO Cars set. Rod “Torque” Redline is an homage to the muscle cars out of Detroit, right down to the Michigan license plate. As a LEGO set, he was a promotional item from a Toys’R’Us LEGO Building Event held on Saturday October 15, 2011. By some of the things I’ve heard and read, I should consider myself extremely lucky that my daughter and I were able to walk away with a set for each of us.
