[Toys R Us] LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean

Postby cas » Thu Apr 14, 2011 10:47 am

TRU.com has the sets in stock. LINK

Edit: The sets are beginning to trickle into TRU brick & mortar locations as well!

Edit 2: The Toys R Us Consumer Gouge Machine is in effect: prices have increased. Good thing LEGO.com has them in stock!

Does this mean they're showing up in stores as well?

I don't see the draw for these sets (other than the ships). They look pretty bland to me. In fact, it looks like they put more effort into the box covers to try to spruce up the sets and make them look more interesting.

Yeah I agree (hence the free poster gimic) although the minifigs are clearly the draw on them. It's just a jumbled mess of locations with no cohesiveness. It's not even like different pieces to a harbor so I'm having trouble loving them as an AFOL but I'm sure the kids will love it. On a side note, I really like the mermaids from Whitecap.

hooray!

I'm totally getting London Escape, it's based on one of the scenes I worked on (incidentally called cc, for 'carriage chase')

ah, who am I kidding? I'm getting them all! :)

Yeah, I'm working on some of the inventories. Started with 4191 last night. The new globe pieces are a new pattern for this part:

Minifig, Headgear Helmet Astronaut Bubble Half

as seen on Sandy Cheeks minifig, and Toy Workshop set.

The PotC sets were out on the shelves at my TRU, including the Queen Anne's Revenge (what a beauty!). Picked up one of the smaller sets, but I am looking forward to collecting this line.

As a steadfast collector of only Lego Star Wars sets, I feel if I see the Queens Anne's Revenge at TRU's tonight I am not going to be able to resist buying it. I have always been fasinated by the tall sailing warships of days past. Also this set plays a role in history as Blackbeards (Edward Teach) flagship, so that equals out to be a very cool set indeed.

Great News! I was at my local TRU today in Thornton, CO and they had most of the POTC sets available. I was able to buy the 4185 Queen Anne's Revenge for $119.00 and 4182 Cannibal Escape at $29.99. They also had the 4193 The London Escape at $49.99, the 4183 The Mill at $39.99 and 4194 Whitecap Bay at $79.99. Good Luck!!

They weren't at my local Toys R Us. I'm hoping to visit my local Lego store tomorrow to see what they have! Hopefully that May flyer will be right, and they'll have the POTC sets newly stocked. :D

EDIT: They had nothing, even though that mis-informed employee told me they expected them today when I called the previous night. Really ticked me off. >8(

My TRU had these sets on the shelf today. I picked up the two cheapest sets because my son loves Jack Sparrow. I was also able to get a pack of the series 4 minifigs for free as part of their promotion this week.

My somewhat local TRU had them when I stopped lastnight there. They had all the sets, couldnt pull the trigger on the Revenge of Queen Anne. It was a pretty cool set, although I was hoping for a bit more detail.

These sets are also qualifying for a BOGO 50% off deal right now, if you manage to find them.

EDIT- Queen Anne's Revenge is low listed online, and these sets are no longer eligible for the BOGO deal.

Apparently all the POTC sets apply for the BOGO except for the Queen Anne's Revenge. :S

Went to my TRU today. They had all the sets for BOGO however, they had all been marked up above MRSP in usual TRU style.

It shouldn't be too long before these start showing up at other, less gouge-y stores. I can wait a couple more weeks if it means not giving TRU my money.

My wife surprised me and brought home the Queen Anne's Revenge yesterday, I was going to take it back this weekend and take advantage of the buy 1 get one 50% off. So am I to understand that the Queen Anne's Revenge does not qualify for the deal?
