That train looks very tempting, but it would be my first since the 12V in the 80ies...
To just motorize it all you would need is the 88000
Battery Box and the 88000
PF Train Motor.
If you want it to be remote controlled you would need to add a 8884
IR Reciever and 8879
Of course you would also need track. If you just want a basic circle, the curved pieces http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53400
usually go for about $.50 on Bricklink and you'll need 16 of them. Straight track is generally cheaper direct from LEGO although it's only currently available with the arguably worthless Flex Track.
Or you could by either of the train sets currently out and get everything you need in one package.
