LEGO Black Friday Deals 2009

Postby Staff » Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:58 pm

Hello, frugal readers! Black Friday is coming up and I've gathered all the deals I could find for the major brick'n'mortar stores that have some type of LEGO deal for the biggest shopping day of the year to help you formulate your shopping strategy. There are also a few online Black Friday deals that may be worth checking out from TRU.com and LEGO Shop@Home. You can also click on the comments link at the bottom right corner of this post to see if any community members have contributed any updates or comments.

If you have any LEGO deals to share, contact us or post it in the forum thread if you're a member.

Good luck!

Updated 11:43am: LEGO Brand Retail added, and clarified the Old Navy LEGO Rock Band deal.

Updated 2:00 am 11/27: LEGO Shop@Home updated their Sales and Dealsicon page with keychains and magnet sets. Nothing too noteworthy.

Also added Amazon.com item.

Kmart

Opens 6am

  • Buy 2 get 1 free on all LEGO sets. Offer valid 6-11am Friday.

  • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Wii $14.99

  • LEGO Batman for DS $14.99

LEGO Brand Retail

Opens at 5am

  • Shop in the LEGO Store on November 27 only and you'll receive a special surprise savings card at checkout - scratch the card to revel a 10%, 20% or 50% discount, or you could win a $10, $100, or $500 LEGO Gift Card.

Meijer

Opens 5am

  • Buy 2 get 1 free on all LEGO sets. Offer valid 5am-Noon Friday

Old Navy

Opens 3am

  • Spend $20 or more on clothing, get LEGO Rock Band free! Friday only. * There are conflicting reports on the game. Some say that it a demo. I've called and was told it was a full version of the game. Still, I'm not so sure it's worth doing Old Navy on Black Friday for a free game.

Target

Opens 5am Friday.

  • LEGO Castle 7048 Troll Warship $49.99, regularly $89.99. Set is discontinued and sold out.

  • LEGO Indiana Jones 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull $49.99, regularly $89.99. Set is discontinued and sold out.

Toys'R'Us

StarWarsShop.com is again offering 25% off all in stock products, including Lego products, as part of their Dark Side Days. The offer is valid Friday, November 27th & Saturday, November 28th until 11:59 PST. The sale appears to be similar to their recent Turbo Tuesday sale. The text from the sale notification email is included below:

Dark Side Days are almost here! Starting Black Friday (Friday, November 27 through Saturday November 28th), StarWarsShop will launch its Dark Side Days savings event that slashes 25% OFF ALL IN-STOCK PRODUCTS, no exclusions! Prices will be slashed on TIE fighters, clone troopers, Darth Vader, anything in stock -- even the Emperor himself will not be spared!
For two days only you can snag those in-stock items you've been meaning to pick up for yourself or your favorite Star Wars fan in time for the holidays. Don't put off those purchases any longer -- these HUGE SAVINGS end Saturday, November 28 at 11:59 PST!

[quote=staff]Vintage Minifigure Collection Vol. 1 (852331),

Buyer beware: the earlier production versions of this item had the set number 4536875. Those were awesome. All items with the 8xxxxx set numbers have been the cheap-o minifigs with crappy plastic and arm indentations.

Don't forget LEGO Stores - you get a scratchcard with 10%, 20% or 50% off your entire purchase, plus you have a chance to win a $10, $100, or $500 gift card! :D

EDIT: About the Old Navy deal - it's a DEMO, not the actual game.
Eurobricks member FiletOFish called Old Navy about that deal.

According to the ad, they have copies for all major consoles (Wii, 360, PS3) but they have *very* limited quantities. I've heard anywhere from 5 copies for each console to 5 copies TOTAL! They'll be handing out wrist bands prior to the 3 AM opening for the version of the game you want. My guess is, unless you're there at midnight, you're not going be far enough ahead in line to get a copy!

What's the general consensus on the Agents Mobile Command Center? I thought it looked really nice when it was out, and for $30 off, I might be inclined to head down to TRU and pick one up on Friday.

It's worth it. and seeing as to how it's nearly impossible to find at MSRP, this is probably going to be your last chance.

that's just my point. no one's going to get a straight answer unless they get it from corporate.

personally i have a tendency to think that it is a full version of the game. they could get into legal trouble by offering a demo and not clearly stating it as such in their advertising.

Engadget, Gizmodo, and a few gaming blogs have all confirmed it's the full version and the ad itself doesn't say it's a limited version, so I think it's safe to say it's the full

A good rule of thumb is that if the same guys saying it's a demo are standing in line at 3am, then it is probably the real thing.

It is crazy - that's why only about 5% of the people that show up will end up walking away w/ a copy of the game. They're going to be severely limited.

I'm more concerned that the Agents Command Center will sell out before I have a chance to truck to my local TRU!

Go back to eurobricks then and whine to them that fbtb is stating it's a full version of the game.
