Chris McVeigh adds another Avenger to his roster of pop culture icon Brick Sketches with Ant-Man. I should have my review out for the movie tomorrow after I recuperate from the weekend, but I had to share this now.

“Ain’t no thing like me, except me!”

Powerpig keeps the sketches coming with this latest Marvel character to be realized in brick marker form. I’m seriously considering recreating a few of these stylized beauties and putting them in a frame at this point. I mean it, i’ll do it… probably. These just keep getting better Chris, keep up the good work.

Sentinel Of Liberty Brick Sketch By Powerpig

I love Chris McVeigh’s brick sketches and this one is no exception. I’m stoked for this movie and bought my tickets for tonight’s showing last week, so expect a review shortly. At this point, I’d like to put a few of these up in a frame on the wall.

    Do Winter Soldier next, Chris!

  • Bricking The Halls! – Part 1 (Trimming The Tree)

Bricking The Halls! – Part 1 (Trimming The Tree)

Looking for something fun to do with the kids, shut-in roommates or that feral cat you found in your Christmas tree? Why not start decorating that cat infested tree with some fancy LEGO ornaments?

You could head to your local Hallmark store and grab this years official LEGO Star Wars ornament and I highly suggest that you (or a loved one looking to get you something geeky as a gift) do, or you could build your own! “But buriedbybricks,” you say because you spend far to much time talking to your computer (I CAN’T HEAR YOU GUYS!), “I just don’t have the time. If I sit down to design an ornament, my kids or shut-in roommate may loose interest and I’m already feeling a little woozy from the feral cat bites.” No problem.

Chris (Powerpig) McVeigh has got you covered. He’s added a sweet Slave I ornament to his Star Wars collection and even gone back and tweaked his previous models for 2013. “But buriedbybricks, I don’t really like Star Wars, do you have any other suggestions?” Again, I can’t hear you and I don’t know how you even ended up here at this point, but YES! Chris has plans for over 40 ornaments! Choose from the classic gaming question mark box or the even more classic box associated with question marks and many, many more.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to start bricking the halls.

Powerpig’s Remarkable Brick Sketches – Part Deux!

Deux means two, for those of you who don’t speak French… like me. Chris McVeigh hasn’t slowed down in his creation of pop culture LEGO marker sketches and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to make exact copies of them and put my favourites up in a frame.

    Bleep Bloop

Surprisingly, there are other things happening in the world at the moment that don’t revolve around SDCC. Chris McVeigh has been busy with these great brick marker sketches that were inspired by his friends actual marker sketches. I’m sure there will be a lot of sketching going on this weekend and hopefully Chris will keep these brick versions coming. You can also check out his first sketch on Facebook.

Build Your Own TIE Fighter Ornament By Powerpig

Chris (Powerpig) McVeigh has capped off his Build-it-Yourself projects for the year with a little taste of Star Wars. He scaled this TIE Fighter to last year’s Millennium Falcon which as he says, allows you to stage an epic space chase right across your tree! PEW PEW!

Head on over to chrismcveigh.com/ and find out how to build it in both Classic White and Empire Grey, then get trimming. I know some of you already have your tree up…

    Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Ever wonder where LEGO gets all the little trees they put in their Advent Calendars? I like to imagine it looks something like this. Another great image from powerpig and even though he skipped his annual documenting of the Advent Calendar, he’s more than gotten himself into the spirit of the season. Happy Holiday’s Chris!

  • … And A Falcon In A Pear Tree!

    The Falcon

Chris (Powerpig) McVeigh has followed up his immensely popular Death Star ornament from last year with the iconic Millenium Falcon. You can head over to his website here to check out parts lists and instructions for all of his LEGO ornaments. Chris has been very generous with his holiday creations and really seems to get into the spirit when the season of sharing arrives, so drop by and show him some nerd love.
