  • Amazon Discounts 21010 Robie House, 21009 Farnsworth House by 40%

Amazon Discounts 21010 Robie House, 21009 Farnsworth House by 40%

Amazon has discounted the impressive 21010 Robie House by 40%. You can pick up the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural standard for $119.93, down from $199.99 MSRP. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on this set and will probably be the lowest ever. Free shipping and no tax to most states makes it an even sweeter deal. Better act fast before Amazon realizes that Walmart sold out and they no longer need to price match.

But wait, there’s more! Amazon has also discounted 21009 Farnsworth House in a similar fashion. That set is discounted 39%, $36.42 down from $59.99 MSRP.

Other LEGO Architecture sets are seeing modest discounts as well.

  • Sneek Peek Of Upcoming Hobbit Line

Sneek Peek Of Upcoming Hobbit Line

Reddit user sometimes_snarky recieved a nice little bonus at a recent trip to TRU in the form of this poster highlighting the upcoming Hobbit line and was kind enough to share. It was a nice surprise to find before I crept off to bed last night and was pleased to get the go ahead to share from the big boss. My wife quickly pointed out the scenes for me (I haven’t read the book in over 20 years) and I’m sure we’ll get a better look very soon, but hopefully this will tide folks over for the moment.

Update: sometimes_snarky just added close up shots of each set on the poster as well as a look at the front of the poster. You can see all the pictures here, but I’ll list them as well.

Amazon Still Selling 10188 Death Star for $336

If you still haven’t picked up the 10188 Death Star set, Amazon still has a few left in stock as of this writing for $335.99. Walmart had it for $289.23 at some point but that sold out before I got there.

  • New Wing Element

    New Wing Element

Hot off the heels of the unveiling of the new Arkham set at Brickcon, Chris Malley (porschecm2) posted the above picture to his flickr stream. I can’t think of anything off the top of my head of something existing already, but I hope there will be an element that will make attaching two of the wing elements to a minifig body nice and easy.

  • Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout Set Revealed

Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout Set Revealed

After seeing the minifigures teased at the San Diego Comic Con the first official picture of the largest set (so far) from the new Super Heroes line has finally arrived. It seems the Batman line is chugging right along with releasing updated versions of the sets from the original series, but at first glance I will say I like the look of this one more than the other refits. It’s no wonder Batman’s rogues gallery busts out of Arkham so often, the place is covered with weapons.
The set is due to be available from LEGO in January.

  • Bruce Lowell’s Silent Guardian

    Bruce Lowell’s Silent Guardian

Bruce Lowell says he’s wanted to do a Batman based MOC for some time as a tribute to the Nolan films and this art deco poster partly inspired by Batman: TAS was the result. This isn’t the first of of these mosaics I’ve felt needed to be shared and I hope it won’t be the last.

  • Tower Bridge’s Price Is Falling Down…

Tower Bridge’s Price Is Falling Down…

I couldn’t help myself with that title.

Anyhoo, Amazon has discounted 10214 Tower Bridge down a whopping 26% dropping the price below the $200 threshold and then some. It now sits at $178.55. Coincidentally, Walmart.com has the same price on the same set.

You know what Walmart has that Amazon doesn’t? 10218 Pet Shop for $111.59. Amazon doesn’t have any for sale since the last time they price matched, but a bunch of third party sellers do at near full price.

  • The Lone Ranger Saddles Up In First Trailer

The Lone Ranger Saddles Up In First Trailer

Huw over on Brickset has reported that a theme based on The Lone Ranger movie has been confirmed. We’ve received no such confirmation, but for some reason I have no doubt that this will happen. In any case, here’s the films first teaser for your viewing… let’s say pleasure. This theme could potentially have some nice western set pieces and a Lone Ranger figure would be pretty neat, but I’ll pass on the bird headed Tonto. It’s just a teaser, but the odd thing for me is that I was into it right up until we actually see the titular character and his sidekick at which point the whole thing felt like it hit a huge dramatic shift and that seems like a bad sign. Fingers crossed for everyone involved, but one more question.

Do kids even like westerns anymore?
