If you live in the Pacific Northwest, then lucky you, the new LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets are hitting shelves. The good, or neutral, news is they’re priced at MSRP. The bad news is there isn’t a “10% off” coupon this week. As the sets are just beginning to trickle out, your store-to-store experience may vary. The store I visited and snapped the pic above only had three sets: 9469 Gandalf Arrives, 9470 Shelob Attacks, and 9473 The Mines of Moria. Expect reviews for Gandalf Arrives and The Mines of Moria very soon.

Starting today at Fred Meyer, all LEGO (excluding LEGO Friends and LEGO games) are buy two, get one free. As indicated by the picture above, LEGO Minifigures Series 6 is showing up at the Northwestern chain, making this an excellent time to pick them up. Other new sets are starting to trickle in as well, but don’t expect any of the new Star Wars sets. This deal stacks with the weekly “10% Off Home” coupon making the deal even better. The sale ends Saturday, January 21st.
If you live in the Northwestern US and happened to get today’s newspaper, you might have noticed a very nice coupon in the Fred Meyer circular. Saturday, December 10th only, all LEGO is 30% off. What makes this coupon even better is no limit, so you can buy as many sets as you want. The ad also lists LEGO Cars 8639 Big Bentley Bust Out for 30% off, making it less than $35 with the coupon. If you don’t subscribe to a newspaper, but live in an area with a Fred Meyer, they commonly keep the latest circulars near the entrances of the stores.
Hello all. Hope you’re enjoying the first day of Spring. I looked out my window this morning to see a nice snowfall. Lousy New England…
Anyway, Series 4 of the ever-popular collectible minifigures have been spotted in Toys R Us, Fred Meyer, and elsewhere. Price is still $2.99 apiece.
According to the LEGO Store calendar, the official release is April, so all these stores would appear to be breaking the release date agreement. TRU doesn’t seem to care though, since they also have Series 4 online as well. So far no one has found them at a Target yet.
We’re also hearing reports of Toys R Us imposing limits on the number you can buy and Fred Meyers marking up the box UPCs to prevent buying entire cases. The dot codes are back, but no cheat sheet yet.
MicroJow has shared some helpful info to help find them in stores:
Series 4 UPC: 673419144995
Toys-R-Us SKU: 578074
Target DPCI: is 204 00 0463
Thanks to everyone who have chimed in with reports.
