[Can] Toys R Us Bricktober Week One Giveaways

Toys R Us Canada is offering a slightly sweeter deal than their American counterpart for the first week of Bricktober. In addition to the LEGO Ninja Minifigure Magnet they’re offering with a much more reasonable $35 purchase, you can also get the 30051 Republic Attack Shuttle mini set if you spend that dough on Star Wars LEGO. I was disappointed to find out that this years minfigure magnets would be glued (though not surprised), but I must admit this has made week one a done deal for me. The magnets are limited to 200 per store (max) and the shuttle deal is based on stock, so if you’ve had your eye on a certain $35+ Star Wars set get it quick and double up on freebies.

[Toys R Us] Bricktober Minifig Magnets Appear Online

castle minifig forest minifig
space minifig ninja minifig

It’s just about October, and that means Bricktober over at Toys R Us. Once again they have a series of four exclusive minifigure magnets, this go around representing Classic Castle, Forest, Space, and Ninja themes. Promotion runs the month of October, but you can look at them online. You can’t get them yet, but they are in stock.

They are each free with $75 purchase, or you can buy them individually for $4.99. If you order online, a $75 order gets free shipping. I get the sinking feeling that these will be glued this time, sucking most of the appeal out of them. But hey! We may get lucky. They’re confirmed as glued.

More Toys’R’Us Bricktober Details

I got some more details regarding the month-long Bricktober promotion happening at US Toys’R’Us stores.

  • In case you haven’t figured it out yet by looking at this page, the schedule of minifigs for the rest of the month is as follows:
    • October 10 – October 16, you’ll get Cavalry Colonel from the 1986 LEGO Western range. The Cavalry Colonel was featured in two LEGO sets, Fort Legoredo and Frontier Patrol.
    • October 17 – October 23, it will be the Fire Chief, part of the 1981 LEGOLAND Town Fire theme will reappear. The Fire Chief was sought after due to the distinctive white helmet he wore to distinguish himself from traditional Firefighter minifigures wearing black hats.
    • October 24 – October 30, it’ll be Black Falcon. Originally released in 1984, the Black Falcon was included within the Knight’s Castle construction theme, featured in the 1986 Black Falcon’s Fortress set.

All minifigs require a minimum LEGO purchase of $20.

  • From October 10 through 16, along with a minifig you get if you spend $20 or more on LEGO, you’ll also get a free fabric Halloween Bucket.
  • On October 23 from 12 noon – 2 pm, young LEGO fans can participate in the Bricktober 500. During the event, kids can build and decorate their own complimentary LEGO car and receive an official LEGO “Bricktober” 500 driver’s license, while supplies last. Once the car is constructed, they can race it against other LEGO fans’ creations.

I’ll post updates as I get more information.

Bricktober Begins!

8098 Clone Turbo Tank

It’s October, and like last year Toys’R’Us is doing a month long LEGO promotion in both the U.S. and Canada.

Every week, you can get a free vintage minifigure with magnet base with a LEGO purchase of $20 or more. You can check out this page to see what the selection of minifigs are. For the first week, the minifigure is the Imperial Soldier.

Also this week for U.S. stores and Toys’R’Us.com, ALL LEGO is on sale up to 30% off, including LEGO Star Wars. Best bet? 8098 Clone Turbo Tank for $90.99. If you order online, tack on anything to bring your order over $100 for free shipping. If you buy in-store, the deal gets a little sweeter with this coupon for a free $10 gift card with your purchase of $75 or more.

To help maximize your discount against TRU’s infamous markup over MSRP, Brickset posted a complete list of sets on sale for 30% off, which is repeated below:
