10225 R2-D2 Now Available, Collectible Minifigures Series 7 Too!

The annual May the 4th sales extravaganza is still a few days away, but everyone's favorite plucky astromech goes on sale today! 10225 R2-D2 is now available in the US for a hefty price tag of $179.99.

But wait there's more! Also available for sale is Collectible Minifigures Series 7, which contains, without a doubt, THE best minifig ever made. It's stylish, has all the qualities of making great army building fodder, and comes in an awesome color. That's right, I'm talking about the Bunny Suit Man:

The great thing about this series is that you can order up to 32 minifigs instead of the old limit of 16, increasing your chances of getting a more complete set. They're priced at $2.99 a pop though. If you're patient, you may score free shipping during the May the 4th sale. Those postcards people have been getting didn't indicate any restriction but I'd imagine you'd have to buy something Star Wars related in order to qualify.

I've seen a bit of confusion about some of the upcoming deals so here's a reminder taken from the actual advertisements.

May the 4th postcard:

FREE TC-14 minifigure with a LEGO Star Wars purchase of $75 or more.
FREE Poster with ALL LEGO Star Wars Purchases, featuring the new 10225 R2-D2 set!
Exclusive Sales & Deals including FREE standard shipping with all orders of $75 or more, only at shop.LEGO.com.

It doesn't indicate that the free shipping deal needs a Star Wars purchase to qualify, but if you make your purchase $75 worth of Star Wars you get all three deals.

As for the Exclusive Hulk minifigure available later in the month, the ad said with a $50 purchase. No asterisk, no special instructions, just spend $50. That being said, I will have to order my Marvel sets when the deal is on because they still haven't arrived in stores here. Might as well wait 2 more weeks and get a couple of Hulks...

I with they'd included a chrome-domed R2 mini-fig with this set. That would have made the decision to get it a lot easier.
