LEGO Super Heroes Line Includes Marvel

Postby Staff » Wed Jul 20, 2011 9:56 am

LEGO + Marvel

According to this article on StitchKingdom.com, the LEGO Super Heroes line will not only include the previously announced DC Comics license, but will also include Marvel Comics as well.

The first buildable characters in the LEGO SUPER HEROES collection are highlighted by Captain America, The Hulk and Iron Man. Select figures will be unveiled in the LEGO booth (#2829) during Comic-Con International at the San Diego Convention Center July 21-24.

My mind is officially blown.

FBTB will be there tonight snapping up as many pics as humanly possible. Keep your browsers dialed in right here for our complete coverage.

Thanks to Scott C. for the tip!

Marvel and DC at the same time is unbelievable. The DC line was totally unexpected, but the Marvel one makes more sense as it's owned by Disney.

However I'm not complaining as I got rid of my Batman and Spidey figs long ago, and missed them considerably.

Between what I already spend on Star Wars sets and the Collectible Minifigs line, I might as well say goodbye to all my cash right now with these Super Hero sets.

OMG, that is AWESOME! :D Someone over in the DC thread posted about a collectible superhero minifigure line and that would be ridiculous if they could somehow do that. WIth both DC and Marvel the possibilities could be endless. I'm very excited

I strongly suspect that if they tried to do that they would run into the same problems they ran into with selling individual Star Wars minifigs. The companies holding the action figure licenses would likely complain (especially since they know that doing so already worked once).

Unfortunately I think you are right and the various licenses won't allow them to do that, but one can hope...right?

Tomorrow's announcement is going to be about human sacrifice, and dogs and cats living together...

Oh, I agree, and it WOULD be awesome (except the fact that they would probably cost $5 a figure, and TRU would sell them for $7).

Wow. That's Nerdvana right there. This could be the license that gives Star Wars a run for it's money. As long as the set design is even half way decent, these will fly off of store shelves. DC or Marvel would have been awesome but together they're unstoppable!

Woah, serious nerd boner. Everything that's been revealed so far sounds great, but I really hope they also get into the X-men.

This is incredible news. I can scarce believe it. Not to mention I'm really excited about a new LEGO theme again, which is nice.

Only sets have collected are Star Wars. Looks like that will change.

I can pass up Batman and Spider-Man lines, but not when they are part of the whole DC and Marvel Universe.

Dear Lego,

Plastic Man

PLEASE!

I think so, yeah. That's like 50 battle packs. Maybe we could eventually get all of those characters in sets though.
