Question on the Lego Board Games

I've been bought one of these as a present for Christmas, and was wondering, the themes are good, but given the scope that Lego has on this. Wouldn't Larger Adventure game, dice controlled, with traps be a lot better, something along the lines of a haunted house, or castle. Also done on a much larger scale. After all, if world of warcraft and dungeon & dragons can make it big, so can something like this, it will also appeal to the older Lego builder.
I like the chess sets and I think they're on the right track, but with what's on offer something on a more grand scale is missing, what do you think, Marty

Undoubtedly much larger scale, and proportionately cooler, games COULD be made. Unfortunately, they would become VERY expensive, which a seasoned LEGO veteran might not blink at, but which the board game market they are targeting probably would. I think they are very consciously trying to stay in a certain lower price range with these.

Yeah, but if you ask daddy to part with a $1000. for the falcon, it's no-problem right?

Given the amount of follows of World of Warcraft etc I'm pretty sure that Lego would be on a winner, if the right board game was setup with and computer program tie-in, I even think that as the game expanded so to could include other sets & figures.

Wait, $200 per box?! While I'm very interested in an expandable board game line (ca. Settler's of Catan), $200 seems much too extreme for the number of pieces you're getting in each expansion.

I'm not sure what Rook is referring to. I've yet to see a price listed for Heroica if that's what he means.

Edit: $14.99 - $29.99 for roughly 100-300 pieces according to FBTB Toy Fair coverage.
