According to the folks over at BrickLink it is printed. Which is totally awesome.

The "target" 1x1 brick is indeed printed, and there's only one per set– the dog's other side is a regular eye brick.

If you're looking for them in-store, they weren't by the registers with all the other gift cards. I found mine on random holiday-themed endcaps throughout the store. I saw them in cosmetics, greeting cards, and by shoes; I'm sure they're elsewhere.

Despite what the post on FatWallet says, keep in mind that the Target website (and my store's customer service, when I asked) states the minimum gift card amount is $5, not $1. You may luck out if you have an easily-persuaded cashier, but don't count on it.

The minimum is $5 and it's a computer thing, they physically can't do $1 as their screen will then prompt for an amount between $5 and $999.

I think it would be kind of cheapo to try to put $1 on a gift card for this. It's not like Target doesn't have stuff I need, put $5 or $10 on it and buy some groceries next time. (Or LEGO sets for that matter, they have a lot on sale right now)

It's really amazing these are free with the gift card purchase as it is. Most store charge extra for 'gift card tins' or gift card carriers so this is awesome. For those who haven't seen it yet, the plastic case IS the actual gift card. It's printed on sticker of sorts and is just on the plastic more or less.

This is so freaking cool! As many of you may know, I used to work at Target, and that's in fact where I worked when my dark ages ended, so this set will have sentimental value for me.

I found some yesterday by the greeting card section. I didn't check any other areas though so I don't know if they can be found elsewhere.

They told me $5 minimum too but like Puddleglum said, use it to buy more stuff. I know I shop a target a lot. I even signed up for the credit card to get 5% back.

I just built it. It's a pretty neat set. It has a 1x2 white cheese slope, which I hadn't seen before.

In my defense, every kid that shows up to my daughters birthday party is getting one with the giftcard. Looks like a cool little set for basically free. Hopefully I'll have enough to keep one for myself.

3 Chrome Troopers for each kid, but I'm charging their parents 5 bucks a pop for them.

I'm really wishing I would have actually ordered some, didn't expect them to sell out that quick.
