The only reason I bought the 10195 was because I was able to get it at a pretty good discount and shipped for free from Target.com. After I got, assembled, played with, and displayed it I would gladly pay full price for it. It really is an excellent set.

Glad to see it works well with the new Turbo Tank. With a few parts it also works well with the motorized AT-AT.

I wish I could just pick up the dropship only somewhere...the AT-OT doesn't do that much for me.

Surely the Empire had a few old Dropships left in the inventory when the AT-AT came into service.

The LAAT/c presumably could only carry something about 13.2 meters, considering how an AT-TE spans the entire length of the carrying section and is that long. An AT-AT, however, is 20 meters long. Also, with the AT-AT's heavy armour and immense size, I'm sure it exceeds the 40 ton carrying limit of the LAAT/c. So I think that even if the Empire kept the carriers in service rather than cannibalizing them, they still wouldn't be able to bring AT-ATs into battle.

EDIT: Scratch that, the AT-OT was 14.3 meters long, so the LAAT/c must have been able to carry things longer than it's carrying area. Still, the AT-AT is 20 meters long, longer than the entire carrier, so I still find it hard to believe that they were carried by LAAT/c's.

I know it's all just fantasy and the driving force behind the entire thing is making money but sometimes I wonder just what the people making this stuff up are on.

A 47 foot long, 20 foot tall, eight legged, armored transport with seats for 34 fully loaded out for combat troops, that's made out of some sort of magnetic material weighs less than 40 tons? And a carrier designed solely for the purpose of carrying heavily armored transports into combat can only lift 40 tons?

We've got Helicopters capable of picking up over 20 tons of payload and we don't have the benefit of repulsorlifts. The record for a Helicopter is over 44 tons of payload. I won't even get into fixed wing aircraft.

Oh well, in my little corner of that fantasy galaxy the LAAT/c is capable of lifting an AT-AT and I try my best to ignore a lot of the technical discrepancies.

Anyway, back on topic...

Love thte video of the dropship hauling the 8274 Combine Harvester. Just what the Empire needs for those urgent deployments when the cereal stocks get low!! It likely saw a lot of action in the Corn Wars The dropship carrying the AT-AT wasn't as impressive as I expected. It kinda reminds me of those nature films where you see an eagle flying away with a rabbit it's just caught

You have to turn the cannon to the side, it interferes with the latch and you might end up accidentally dropping the AT-TE if you don't. Don't ask how I know that.

Yup. Turn the cannon to the side, or remove it altogether (simply clip it off the turntable).

There is one "airborne" shot. Unfortunately I forgot to straighten the dropship's feet. The dishes do line up quite nicely. If it weren't for the problem with the cannon the AT-TE would be a much better match for the dropship than the eight-legged AT-OT.
