Target in Acworth, Georgia (NW Metro Atlanta) has all the new 2010 sets for prices that are slightly more reasonable than TRU.

Prices looks ridiclously high. Hopefully and i mean hopefully they'll drop the freeco speeder and tri fighter back to $29.99 as those sets are already overpriced msrp. They did that for echo base/tank droid and listed at $35 but i guess they weren't selling too well so they dropped them back down.

As of 4:30 pm GMT (pacific time), they have these star wars sets. They woulda have only 1 SW set if they didn't add the new 2010 ones. And the new sets dont' qualify for free shipping apparently.

Home One (4 left)
Tie Defender (out of stock)
Freeco Speeder (1 left)
Droid Tri Fighter (10 left)
Snow Trooper Army Pack (5 left)

Saw these sets for the same prices at the Mississauga Argentia TRU. Also in stock:

8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack 14.99
8088 ARC-170 Starfighter 79.99.

Fair quantities in stock but will probably sell quickly. Also saw Atlantis set - 8061 Gateway of the Squid 54.99.

All the SW sets except for the ARC-170 are available for order at mastermindtoys.com. They also have Toy Story, Ben 10, Atlantis and other 2010 sets.

Thanks roflfant... but mastermindtoys.com is now out of battle packs... I know, because I just bought the last of the reble ones (they ship canada post, vs. Toys R Us... which ships UPS which I h@te (if you're not home... you have to drive across the city to pick up your shipment... of course "not being home" includes the UPS guy ringing your door bell once, and by the time you get to the door, he's in his truck and half way down the street)

Hey everybody, I just came back from Zellers and man, I was so happy and surprised when I went there. They had tons of battle packs both snow trooper and rebel, and a bunch of TIE defenders. The Zellers I was at was one of the Guelph, Ontario, Canada locations.

Prices
Battle packs 14.99 each
TIE Defender 69.99
and there was a bogo sale for bionicle, buy one get one 50% off...

Enjoy and merry christmas

The target's and TRU's in and around Livonia mi have had the new sets, I saw a Target exclusive fire set from lego city, can't remember name, also in less than a week TRU has marked up most of the sets I was looking at, thought you were supposed to get deals at the holidays?

And finally "In Stock" at toysrus.com...

LEGO Star Wars Freeco Speeder (8085) $35
LEGO Star Wars Trifighter Droid (8086) $35
LEGO Star Wars TIE Defender (8087) $60
LEGO Star Wars Arc-170 Starfighter (8088) $75

LEGO Toy Story Woody and Buzz Lightyear Rescue (7590) $27
LEGO Toy Story Construct a Buzz Lightyear (7592) $30
LEGO Toy Story Buzz Lightyear's Star Command Ship (7593) $35
LEGO Toy Story Army Men on Patrol (7595) $15

They all seem to be described as "usually leaves warehouse in 1 - 2 full bus. days" which could mean you could still get them in time for Christmas if I am reading this correctly: http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?c ... Id=3895358

Note: I have't compared these to MSRP to see if there is any markup.

seems like tru us is more than desperate than tru canada. For example both freeco speeder and tri droid fighter are $34.99 in us and in cdn dollars.

I've got a solution for all of you who want the newest sets without the bigger markups. FAO's site has the sets available at what I'm guessing is msrp. Ironically enough, FAO pulls their stock from TRU!
eBay store, contact me if you'd like to perform trades from my inventory. I'm looking for original genosian fighers, second version a-wing fighters and tie bombers. I may be interested in other sets so let me know what you have.

Not so ironic, TRU owns FAO. :)

Also, all the Toy Story, SW, City, and Creator lines were available (and at LEGO MSRP) in some Fred Meyer stores as early as last Friday.

I'd still say it is ironic since I believe FAO is supposed to be the upscale brand but in this case it has lower markup.

There are infinite shades of irony regarding the two. I feel the irony is in an "upscale" brand going bankrupt, and a competitor buying said brand so no one else can buy it and use it against them. Also, I find it hard to agree with FAO's label as upscale, to me, selling the same products as everyone else...just at a higher price, does not quantify as "upscale."
