LEGO Indiana Jones 2 video game

Postby batsamd » Fri May 29, 2009 11:47 am

StarWars.com has a little article about LEGO IJ 2 which should be out Fall 2009.

Looks like it will redo the original movies with new features and include Crystal Skull stages.

In the StarWars.com article there is a link to the official lucasarts LEGO IJ2 site, and there it mentions the following:

For the first time ever in a LEGO game, Build Your Own Adventure Mode allows you to create your own levels and environments and share them with your friends.

Sounds interesting, wonder how well it's going to work and just how difficult someone will be able to make their level.

Glad I bought the LEGO IJ 1 for $20, because it looks like I'll eventually get this game, too.

Well, I can't decide whether I'm happy about this or not (or rather, I can't decide HOW happy I am, since I'm sure I'll enjoy it.)

On the one hand, I liked the first game, and am certainly glad to play more of it. On the other hand I am more than a little disgruntled that they are mostly rehashing the same ground. Couldn't they have just waited and put out only one game? Yeah, new features, new levels, blah, blah, blah, the end result is a game that will cover mostly the same ground as the last one. It just seems a bit lazy.

Oh, well, at least this one is available on PC, unlike Star Wars Complete Saga.

This is awsome! XD I can't wait to try making my own levels!(Even though the level maker will most likely be way juniorised) Also I'm sorry to inform you Mr. Ed, but so far it's not going to be out for PC.

I did read the article, "Playstation 3 computer entertainment system" is all the same system, isn't it? I mean there is no comma between the two.

Onions had highlighted the important bit (in bold). Here it is again in bright red:

not to flame/troll watever its called, but now lucasarts decide to release this not on ps2 ( the console that most younger kids would have besides the wii), but cannot release the new (non-lego) indy game on the next gen consoles for serious gameers.

i'll stilll buy this though

I'd have thought most kids would have moved onto one of the two cheaper next-gen consoles (Wii and 360) rather than stick with PS2. Even if they haven't, I'm pretty sure most households have a PC, so the game's unavailability on PS2 shouldn't be an issue.

So yeah, I'll probably pick this up, seeing as the first one was an absolute joy to play. I hope they improve upon the 'classic trilogy' levels rather than just rereleasing them, though. If they do go down that route, maybe the new stuff could be available via DLC?

Wait so it is comming out for windows? I still confused because the decription says "Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows" I bolded the part that is confusing me. Also I really hope this comes out on PC, because I was once one of those PC only people. :) I soo can't wait for this game to come out. XD

The 360 is an entertainment system from Microsoft, i.e. Microsoft made it, Windows is an operating system for PCs.

O.K. Thank you for clearing up my confusion. :) Also now talking about the game, I wonder in the level creater, if you'll be able to create cutscenes or not. :?:

I'm going to wait until this one drops to $20; it doesn't seem to be worth the extra cash just for KOTCS and tweaks to the other movies. :(

They better not screw this up like LSWTCS and just throw in a few so-so levels, redesign short round and the flying wing and call it "the complete adventures" :|

The only redeming factors is the idea of the atomic test Nevada mission, and the leve editor. :D

I guess, that depends on your PC. If it meets the system requirements, then there should be no difference

I made the mistake of reading reviews AFTER I ordered it, but BEFORE I got it.

Since I was getting it anyway, I SHOULD have just waited and let my personal experience stand on its own, without tainting it beforehand with the truly disappointing reactions of others.

Or I should have read reviews before buying it, I guess.

I'll let you know what I think when I DO get it, but the reviews have me nervous, I'll admit.
