  • [USA] Harry Potter Sets Hitting Stores Now!

The newly-revived Harry Potter sets are reportedly appearing on shelves just about everywhere. turtle1173 found them at Walmart, that guy found them at K-mart, and condor found a set at Target. I saw them at Toys R Us today (with markups, of course), so it’s safe to say they’re probably in your area. They’re already on LEGO S@H and most likely in LEGO stores as well. Here’s the set list (and LEGO S@H prices for reference):

    4736 Freeing Dobby- $10.99
    4737 Quidditch Match- $19.99
    4738 Hagrid’s Hut- $39.99
    4840 The Burrow- $59.99
    4841 Hogwarts Express-$79.99
    4842 Hogwarts Castle- $129.99

And don’t forget Double LEGO VIP double points all this month.

  • [CAN] TRU Bricktober Promotion

Toys’R’Us Canada’s in-store Bricktober promotion kicks off this Friday with two promos:

    • Get a FREE 30050 MINI Republic Attack Shuttle with any LEGO Star Wars purchase of $35 or more. Offer good while supplies last.
    • Get a FREE LEGO minifigure with any LEGO purchase of $35 or more. Offer good while supplies last.

It’s unclear whether the promotions stack or not since you’re spending the same amount of money and unknown if this deal is good online.

Thanks to groupsrv for the heads up.

  • Toys’R’Us Sale on LEGO Star Wars, Finally

Toys’R’Us Sale on LEGO Star Wars, Finally

Toys’R’Us is finally giving some sale love on LEGO Star Wars. Right now through October 2, you can get 20% off the following sets:

Deals are good in store and online. TRU online also offers free shipping on orders above $100. While the potential savings are reduced since TRU adds their own markup above MSRP, larger orders that take advantage of the free shipping will yield a bit more of a savings.

One more thing: TRU in store is offering a $10 gift card if you spend $50 or more on Star Wars, and a $5 gift card if you spend $30 or more, making the deal a little sweeter. The only exclusions are books and electronics, so LEGO should qualify.

  • LEGO Harry Potter Keychains Free With Game

LEGO Harry Potter Keychains Free With Game

Toys’R’Us is having a special deal for the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 video game. Put down 5 bucks for the game at any TRU retail location, and receive 2 free Hogwarts House collectible keychains. When you pick up the game on release day, you’ll get the other 2 keychains. Picture is below. According to the printed ad, this deal expires this Saturday May 29th. The game’s release date is June 29, 2010.

  • TRU BOGO 50% In-store and online this week

If we haven’t given you enough reasons in the last few weeks to frequent your local TRU, here is another:  This week, both online and in-stores, Toys’R’Us is having a Buy One Get One 50% off sale (aka BOGO 50).  While I considered not posting this sale, mainly because it excludes licensed themes including Star Wars and Toy Story (our focus), I feel this is still a good deal and worth sharing.   As an aware fan of LEGO like you are, you’ll know this sale essentially cancels the TRU markup on most sets, so if you’re in the market for older hard to find sets often easily picked up at a TRU or non-licensed TRU exclusives,  here is a chance at a small but worthwhile discount.  Good luck!

  • [US] Toys’R’Us Cooking Something Up Sweet for Black Friday?

UPDATE: Allow me to apologize for allowing my own fanboy excitement to possibly make this out to be more than it ever was. Apparently, as a strictly LEGO Star Wars collector, who doesn’t collect other Star Wars items like others, I read “figure” and thought “minifigure” while others thought “action figure”. And that that makes sense, since TRU stocks an exclusive Commander Ponds action figure. As it appears at this moment, Home One will likely be coming free with the action figure and not a new minifigure. How a LEGO set and action figure together make a desirable combination, I don’t know, but if that’s your cup of tea then Black Friday will still be good to you.  If you drink some other brew, until there is further information to the contrary available, you all can file this under the proverbial “kool-aid” folder.

As your resident Sales & Deals guru, I am doing my research to help you all save money on our favorite plastic obsession, including this fall on Black Friday–the mother of all shopping days. I came across a really interesting something in an early release of Toys’R’Us’s Black Friday ad that I know you all would want to know:

LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars Fan’s Vote Anniversary Edition – Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (7754)
    Our Price: $109.99
FREE Star Wars Commander Ponds figure with purchase!

What? The Home One is not, I repeat not, on sale, but it comes with a cool gift apparently! What I read into this is that if you buy a 7754 you get something else more, a minifig! Is this minifig a mini-set, or just parts? Who knows. It is a vague text-only bit of intriguing information. Help us in the community learn more about this and I’ll update you as details come in. Be sure to comment on this post’s related discussion topic in the “Finds” forum.
