Minifigure Series 3 Spotted At TRU

Stopped in my local TRU (MD) this morning and they had a brand new carton out. I found a few that the employees wanted first (they did not know about the dots) then started to pick out all the ones I was missing. From the register I hear the dreaded words "HOW MUCH!!! This can't be right" from the cashier. They were ringing up at $4.49 each. The manager was surprised and found that they raised the price last night. Needless to say, I put them back (except for the 2 fisherman which at BOGO was not bad)

Also they are online at TRU for $2.99 (thanks ToysNBricks for the info) BUT you can only BOGO one and it is not a free shipping item.

4.49 well don't worry , I think they'll be available at a decent price down the road...you can still get a case of series 2 for 120 even now , so hopefully will be the same with series 3 later.

Stopped into two TRUs today here in the Los Angeles area and they've bumped the prices up to $3.99 apiece. Except for the Van Nuys store. They're $4.99 apiece there.

Found a case at the Meijer store in Milford, OH. Priced at $1.99 and today you get 15% off for using your Meijer mastercard. Hopefully I get some good ones (I haven't checked the "codes" yet.)

Yep, series 3 was $1.99 at Meijer. They had series 2 figures there, too, for the same price. Maybe they haven't raised them yet.

Very true. I got my set at that price. However, they pulled a case out of the back for me, before they even had them on the shelf, so they may have just still had the pricing from last time in the system. I have since heard that Fred Meyer is selling them for $2.99, too.

So after sorting through a full case I have made some revisions to the original cheat sheet. The original was a great starting point but I think it needed some clarifications. Please give feedback on this one and see if it helps ID the figures any easier. Enjoy!

Boy, I wish I had that today. I finally found Series 3 at TRU... $3.99 each. Yeah right. I went through with the original cheat sheet I made and found it to be maddeningly unhelpful. I was able to single out a cyborg and rapper, but couldn't find any Elves. Of course, I'll take my chances with ordering the rest on S@H, since I've got some built-up rewards money to offset the shipping. I just wanted to make sure I got the ones I wanted most.

I currently only have one series 3 minifig the Baseball Player. My package has the embedded number as 238B0 not S38B0. There is a dot missing from the cheat sheet for the Baseball Player. The dot is touching the bottom right of the 0 in the embedded number. Hope this helps!

They had 3 cases at the TRU in Yuba City CA. Those cases are now short two fishermen and two elves. I'm not sure how many were in those cases before I arrived. I may have missed a couple of them.

Yeah, the number is kind of generic based on many of the packs I have found. I have seen one other number, but I assume it will vary some with production lots. I mostly included them as a general reference. I'll check the baseball players I have and see if I can match up what you are describing. Also, here is the "most" up to date one I've done. It varies from the one posted slightly and I think is more accurate yet. You may want to link to this one instead. I just kept the first up for comparison. My local Meijer still has S3 figs priced at $1.99 in their stocking stuffer aisle. Unfortunately all we found was the empty box this time.

My local TRU has lowered their price of Series 3 to the MSRP of $2.99. I'm not sure when the price officially went down but the same amount of boxes as 2 weeks ago are still sitting on the shelves.
