I agree with most of you, a lot of good idea's. Here is my list.

1. Queen Amidala
2. Padme
3. Grand Admrial Thrawn w/ Ysalamiri
4. Dev Sibwarra (A Force Minded Character in True at Bakura)
5. Porkins
6. Ssi-ruuk Leader/Warrior (Truce at Bakura)
7. Gold Leader and Red Leader from ANH
8. Revised Darth Vader (I think Lego could come up with a better design for the Helmet)(Also there are 4 Darth Vaders for each of the movies and yes each one is different..Lego should make a Special Edition Set that would have all 4)
9. Joruus C’baoth (Thrawn Trilogy)
10. Talon Karrde (Thrawn Trilogy)
11. Mara Jade (Thrawn Trilogy)
12. Garm Bel Iblis (Thrawn Trilogy)
13. Noghri Warrior (Thrawn Trilogy)
14. Ace Azzameen ( X Wing Alliance Game)

I didn't bother since I thought I remembered being told at some point that they couldn't make minifigs out of transparent pieces for some reason...

Greg Hyland was talking about new transparent pieces. Maybe Lego have solved that problem. Unlikely, but you never know. I didn't think about them for my list, but that would make my year! 30th anniversary ROTJ minifigure (ghost)battlepack?

Well, make my month at least.

I've heard the same, Mister Ed, but I'd think they could find some way if properly motivated.

Th only really original ones on my list (from skimming everyones' posts above me) are Darth Nihilus, Cin Drallig, R3-S6, and Savage Opress.

Quinlan Vos- Having him snatched away when he was so close was just cruel
Ki-Adi Mundi- I mean seriously, he was in the game, and if they can mold alien heads, they could probably do a longer plastic head, right?
Darth Nihilus- How awesome would that be? He’s definitely the coolest of the OR characters
Padme- Well, duh
Bail Organa- Well, duh(er)
Savage Opress- I have a good feeling that he’s in the works though!
Mara Jade Skywalker- pretty important in the EU
Cin Drallig- another awesome Jedi who deserves a fig of his own
R3-S6 (Goldie)- We know we’re getting a Chrome Astro droid in the next wave, how cool would a gold one be (plus, with their current Clone Wars craze…)
Force Ghost characters- again, they did it in the game, and how cool would Trans Minifigs be?

I think I'm the first one to mention this one (either that, or he's been done already and I've missed it):

I agree, we could definitely use him, had him on my list as well.

This was my list, slightly(hugely) truncated from the first version.
- Ki-Adi-Mundi
- Boss Nass
- Captain Typho
- Clonetroopers with rank (as seen in AotC, sergeant; Green markings, Lieutenant; Blue markings, etc)
- Admiral Piett
- Wat Tambor
- Beru Lars
- Poggle the Lesser
- Alpha-17 ("Alpha")
- Durge
- Clone Commandos
- Mas Amedda
- Bultar Swan
- Boushh
- General Dodonna
- Jocasta Nu
- Kyle Katarn
- Quinlan Vos
- Commander Gree
- Garindan
- Oola
- Stass Allie
- Oppo Rancisis
- Mara Jade
- Nien Nunb

I'm sure we'll get to see a bunch of these in the future.

I found this surprisingly difficult. I’m a LEGO fan first, Star Wars fan second. So in SW I prefer the films, but don’t mind a Clone Wars set if it overlaps with the movies. As for the games, books and comics, my interest drops off quickly. But while I doubt that too many kids are into the books or comics, I guess the games do have combined kid/geek target market appeal.

Looking at the lists from other people, I have to admit that I have no idea about most of the characters mentioned. I have been wasting time on Wookiepedia looking some of them up. There were so many characters listed from the expanded universe (ie books and comics that I suspect much of the target market don't know) or minor characters that were in the films but they don't have names or dialogue and only those with a pause button will recognise.

Some seem so obscure to me that I was then tempted to suggest that we need a minifig for Princess Yuki from The Hidden Fortress.

As for all the astromech and droid variations that were requested, I agree, but I'm doubtful about the application in LEGO. Two slightly different truncated cone shapes for heads for R4s and R5s? We would be lucky to get one new mould.

Several of the figs others have suggested have been recently issued or are already in the 2011 rumour list. So other than a few versions of Padme, a couple more Twi’leks and the obvious Biths, Jawas and Tuskens, most of the minifigs I considered were revised reissues of older characters. The deeper LEGO gets into the EU the less I will feel the need to spend…
