30070 Alien Polybag Purchased From TRU Canada

Those of you looking to get multiples of the little green three-eyed alien from Toy Story and didn't want to/couldn't afford to amass the higher priced sets may have a bit of a reprieve. Previously available only from France Toys'R'Us stores, CloneEmperor from our chat room reports being able to buy 30070 at his Toys'R'Us in Canada for $4.99 CAD. I can only imagine they will be available for the rest of North America soon as it smells like another TRU worldwide exclusive.

Found 'em in Ottawa as well... (st. Laurent blvd) on a hanging strip-rack at the row end in the Lego section (none in the other Toy Story display stuff)

I found this in US TRU for $3.99 this past weekend. It was on pegs at the side of the Toy Story 3 display at the front of the store.

Lucked out today. I was driving past the local TRU and decided I'd stop in to see the new summer sets. I didn't plan on stopping. Looked at the new sets for 10 minutes or so. As I was walking out of the store, I had to walk past the customer service desk to head to the exit. There was a cardboard box on the desk about twice the size of a shoe box. I happened to notice the LEGO logo on the bags sitting in the box. Then I stop and realize it was the individual bagged Toy Story Alien sets. Wanted this baggie since the Canadian's started reporting them. Got one for each my two youngest boys and one for myself.

$3.99 each. Get 'em while you can. Always go to TRU on Friday if you want to find the newest stuff. This is especially true for really hard to find promotional stuff. PS, I'm in the US so you can look near you.

Thanks for the heads up. Picked them up at my local TRU in So Cal today. Been looking for an army of Green Aliens. wonder what the resale on these would be like later on?

The TRU mailer I received (Wild for School Sale cover), states that the 30070 was free with any Toy Story 3 purchase only. However, it listed the TS3 Duplo sets in that section so it looks like they count too.

EDIT: On TRU.com it looks like every TS set except for the Garbage Truck Getaway gets you a 30070. Obviously the mailer and the online promo aren't on the same page.

The 30070 is now listed on TRU.com at http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4298591. Like the newly listed Chrome Stormtrooper, you can't add it to your cart. However, since it is listed as "Gift with purchase", it looks like this promo will be available online too.

Just tried the BOGO plan on the Toy Story alien...didn't work. They removed the stock from the floor, so you have to go to the counter to get them. Plus, I had the cashier ring a couple up out of curiosity, and the discount didn't apply. I suppose you could argue that it's still technically a "construction" set, but hey...it's 4 freakin' bucks. I did get my chrome Stormies, though.
